Everyone was talking about today's broadcast. "I bet you Jessica will be picked!", "No way, it'll be Amy!" And so on and so forth. There is no way you could forget about it. Even at school, people were passing notes and such. Who even still passes notes? You couldn't even think in any part of Illea as the chatter was so loud, I swear.

The country became a madhouse. It was crazy at work too. One girl ordered me to grab her purse and carry it to her car. (She's one of the few who have a car.) I denied the 'privilege of helping the future queen, ahem'. Brat.

The only sanctuary was home. But, even there Jason teased me about it. "You are going to fall in love with the prince. Ooh, Jules and Prince Lucas." I told him he was acting 4 years old. He laughed and nodded his head in agreement. It was a long day only getting ready for a long, long week. I only wish I had more preparation time.

My family gathered around the T.V. at the designated 7:00 PM time. The screen of the television lit up to The Report. The brand new host, Faye Harps, was about to interview Prince Lucas. The royal family consisted of Queen America, King Maxon, Prince Lucas, and Princess Rachel. I examined their faces.

Queen America, as everyone knew, was pregnant, and she looked a little tired, but elegant as ever. King Maxon looked worn out due to the many recent rebel attacks and rerising of the Southern Rebels. Prince Lucas looked...emotionless. Or just scared to show emotion. Princess Rachel just looked bored. There is no other way to put it. I felt her on a personal level.

After a useless interview, which no one payed attention to due to the expected bundle of nerves, they were ready to announce the 35 women who will participate in the selection.

"Now, for the moment we have all been waiting for...

From Allens, Emma Johnson

From Angeles, Olivia Smith...."

So on and so forth. It was honestly boring. I didn't care to look at the mostly superficial head shots.

I stood up, getting ready to go finish my book, just waiting for them to announce Dakota.

"From Dakota, Julie Cora Canterbury," she called out.

My mom jumped up and screamed almost in unison with Kaitlyn.

The phone rang almost immediately, but I didn't hear. Once again, I fainted. It's not like the anxiety faint, it's the, something in me isn't working to right faint. You, know, the one I kept having. Well, on second thought, maybe it was an anxiety faint. That was a whole new chapter in my previously boring life.

I quickly got up, determined not to let anyone know. Not that anyone was actually paying attention to me. They were too busy taking in the shock of the announcement while Faye continued in the background announcing.

I stood and made my way to my mom, who was talking on the phone to an official. She shoos me away.

As for the rest of my family, my sister is jumping up and down. She's ecstatic. My brother sits stone face. His twin, me, is going away for who knows how long. The reality dawned on me. I am going to the selection to try and win a princes heart.

Like I'll actually try. That's a funny joke.

I sat on the old worn couch, trying to wrap my head around what I was going to do. Well, first I was going to go to sleep and make sure this wasn't some sort of twisted nightmare.

Maybe I'll just wake up and it will be a normal day at the diner.

My mom set down the phone and opened her mouth to explain things. She was then interrupted by another phone call. She handed the phone to me.
