About 4 years later...

"Mommy! Mommy! Wake up! Wake up! They're here!" Rachel shook me awake. I felt the other side of the bed. It was cold. Lucas would already be up and working. I sat up, sweeping the three year old up in my arms. "I wonder why they're here. It couldn't be for a birthday of a certain three year old ,could it? It's not March 5 yet, is it?" I teased and she clapped her hands together.

"It is! It is! It's my birthday, mama!" she sang. I put her back down on the floor. "Why don't you go say hello to your special guests?" I said and she ran out the door.

I got up out of bed and started changing into a dress. I found a light blue one that I slipped on easily. I put my hair up in a sock bun easily and my feet found some flats in the floor. I put on a pearl necklace that Lucas have me for our anniversary. I then put on my beautiful wedding ring I've worn everyday since our wedding.

I went outside of my room to the entry hall to greet the guests. "Emily! Grace! It's so good to see you again!" I exclaimed as I have them big hugs. "Where are your husbands'?" I asked looking shown the entry hall. Grace answered while she picked up Rachel, "Austin had to go on a business trip to Paloma and Zachary is going with him." I nodded in understanding.

Another car pulled up. "If you'll excuse me for just one moment," I said as I went to welcome my brother and sister in law. A butler opened the car door. "Amy! Jason! Welcome back!" I said as I hugged them both. "Could Kaitlin not make it?" I asked with disappointment. Jason shook his head. "She'll be here later. It's nice to live so close to you."

The final car pulled up. "Ashlie! Mark! Gracelin! Emberly!" The three year old triplets all gave me a big hug, followed by their mom who was pregnant with another boy and due in two months. "How are you doing?" I asked Ashlie. "Pretty good. We just hired a nanny so it's much easier to control the three little pigs with another adult." I nodded. "That's good. Let's go in. Rachel wanted to have a breakfast with her party." "Thank goodness. I'm starving!" Ashlie announced.

We all ate and then Rachel, the triplets and Evelyn went to play some games with Wendy. Lucas came up behind me and kissed me. "Hey babe. You missed breakfast," I said with a pout as he came and sat next to me. "I know. I was working," he replied. "You work too much." He nodded.

Kaitlyn came in a second later. She gave me a hug and told me she already ate so she didn't need breakfast.

We then gave presents and when they were all opened, me and Lucas stood up hand in hand. "We have a special present for Rachel, but she won't get it until about August. Rachel is going to be a big sister!" It took a minute for the news to settle in before Kaitlyn screeched, "You're pregnant again?" After that we got a lot of congratulations.

Everyone that lived close went home, but everyone else was staying for a couple of days.

Life was never perfect, but in this time, with this family, it got pretty dang close. Everything would work itself out just fine.
