I stepped out of the shower and pulled on the fluffiest robe, bracing myself for the rest of prep. I've already been here for an hour. And it's only 4:30 , which means an hour and a half more. I sigh and sit at the vanity.
Denver starts doing my hair by braiding up the front part and pulling it into a fancy bun. I don't understand how she can do it so perfectly. She leaves out a shorter front piece and curls it, finishing up the hair.
Blair does my makeup. She knows I hate makeup, do she applies only a light coat. She also finds an amazing smelling lotion and puts it on my hands and feet. Then she makes me close my eyes to put on the nail polish. Apparently that's a suprise as well as the dress. And jewelry. And shoes.
I wait, eyes still closed for them to get the dress. Then Wendy tells me to open my eyes.
In front of me is the most gorgeous dress I've ever seen. It's a sleeveless ice blue silk dress with gems gathered at the top and on the waist to look like ice. It reaches the floor gracefully.
They carefully slid the dress on me. It fit so perfectly and graced my figure in the best way possible and was so soft and comfortable it felt like wearing pajamas.
The nails were the same ice blue as the dress and had silvery ice cracks coming from the top. The shoes were white strappy heels with diamonds decorating them. They were the perfect height and fit.
And just when I thought I couldn't be further amazed, they brought out the jewelry. It was a diamond necklace and earrings that finished me of with the look that I had been adorned with ice. I looked like the snow queen herself.
I turned to my maids, tears of joy threatening to spill over, "This is amazing! I've never seen anything so beautiful! Thank you!" I pulled them in for a hug just as the clock chimed 6:00. That was fast.
They all hugged me one more time before shooing me downstairs for dinner. I took a minute to clear my tears and admire my dress for a minute before actually going downstairs.
♢♢♢
I've never been one to stand out. I've never been the center of attention really except when I left Dakota and now. It was first obvious when I came in and all eyes were drawn to me.
For a couple reasons. One: I am literally the only one not wearing red, green or gold. All of the dresses were beautiful, but mine was unique and, well, stunning. Two: I was a bit later than everyone else, meaning I made my entrance when everyone was already there, so merely my timing made it so much more spectacular.
I sat down with Grace and chatted about random stuff. Then they brought out the menu, followed by the courses:
It was the best meal the palace ever served. And it was just the right amount of each course so it wasn't too much or too little. Then the music started and a couple of guests began to trickle in, as well as guards and maids. I noticed Blair, Wendy, and Denver wearing matching red dresses that made them look stunning.
