The next morning, Marie woke up and went to he small bag. She pulled out a beautiful blood red dress that she got from her father on her birthday the year before her father passed away.
While she was putting her dress back in her bag, a loud knock suddenly appeared in the silent room.
She opened the door and saw that no one was there. The girl frowned a bit and looked down, and saw a small piece of paper. She kneeled sown and picked it up. The note said something like this...
"Mademoiselle, I will love it if you could meet me at the fountain right after you get dressed. -LeFou P.S I didn't write this note."
She grinned at the note, grabbed her small pouch with coins, and left her room. She left the small inn and walked towards the fountain. As she was walking, she heard some murmurs from the three girls called The Bimbettes. "Is this the girl that Gaston was talking about?" "He was right, she sure is a brat." "I bet that she is a worse version of Belle, if it is possible." Said all of the three girls.
She frowned. Why was he talking trash about her if that night they had a wonderful time? Her thoughts were disturbed by LeFou, "Miss Marie, I'm so glad to see you!" She turned around and saw her chubby friend running towards her. She faked a smile as he reached to her.
"Hi!" she said with a very high-pitched tone that LeFou seemed to notice. "Are you okay?" he asked a bit afraid of her reaction to his dumb question. She took a deep breath and responded again with a high pitched voice, "Of course! Why wouldn't I?"
Of course she was obviously lying. She felt a more broken from the inside. She really thought Gaston had truly changed, and that she could feel loved again. But, she was wrong. It was all an illusion, a facade that he worse so that he didn't had more enemies in the village.
LeFou looked with curious eyes at her but she smiled and he didn't even mind to insist again. "So, i was thinking that me, you, and Gaston could go to the forest and hunt for a while, what do you think?" he asked with his adorable grin on his face.
She thought of it, and her answer to his question was a simple no. "I'm sorry, but i have to say no to the offer, maybe next time." LeFou looked at her walking away, he thought that she grew closer to Gaston and maybe even start to like Gaston, but he was wrong.
While LeFou was lost in his own thoughts Gaston came jogging to him with a smile in his face. "So, what was her answer?" he said with a lot of confidence that her answer would've been a yes. "She said no," said Le Fou in a silent tone, looking at the floor. Gaston looked at him with an eyebrow raised, why did Marie said no to their offer? He decided that he would find out.
He entered the inn silently and looked at the counter, it was empty. He grinned and entered without any permission to the hall with all of the rooms in it. He looked around and saw the Bouvier girl's room number, 306. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door three times.
No answer. He laughed nervously, he knocked again and still there was no answer. He knitted his eyebrows together, was she okay? was she in danger? He grabbed a sharp object that he had in his belt and picked the lock. Gaston opened the door and no sign of Marie was there.
He closed the door and ran out of the inn. Where was Marie? He headed to the stable to check if her horse was there. He looked around and saw that there was Augustus. He sighed and silently walked to the beautiful horse. Peeking through the fence, he saw that Marie was sitting in the corner, looking at a small picture.
Marie was looking at a picture of her and her father. She was looking at the man laughing out loud with her. A tear rolled down her cheek, she missed her father very much. She would sacrifice everything just to see him, or even hear him once more.
She hear a creak that originated from the wooden floor of the stable and she snapped her neck up. He saw a familiar red suit through the fence. It was Gaston. She was furious at him, she decided that she would give him the one thing that everyone hated, the silence treatment.
"Marie, is everything alright?" Gaston asked as he opened the small door of the stable she was sitting on. She didn't responded, she just kept looking at the picture, tracing the border with her index finger. "Marie, talk to me," he commanded but she still didn't answer.
He kept asking and asking until she got really annoyed, she looked up with an anger look on her face and she started to say, "Really, Gaston? First, you start by being extremely rude to me. Then you act nice as we talked and now you talk trash about me! Who are you really? Huh?"
Gaston swallowed hard, he was guilty of the actions that came out of her mouth. He did talked bad about her, but it wasn't his fault. He was drunk when he said it. His drunk self hadn't fully processed the chat he had with her earlier in that evening.
"You're right, i did talk bad about you but let me explain," he said as he looked down at the ground. She stood up, raised an eyebrow, and folded her arms over her chest. "I don't want an explanation, just tell me the truth." "What truth?" he said, already knowing the answer.
"How do feel about me?" she said as she tilted her head to the left, her facial expression softening. Gaston remained silent, she couldn't know the truth. She couldn't know that he had feelings for her. Well, not now.
She tapped her foot impatiently in the wooden floor, waiting for the answer, but no answer came out of his mouth. "Great," she said through her gritted teeth. "I don't know why did i even came to this town, i shouldn't had listen to my father, i should have stayed in the fire and burn to death! At least i would have someone to trust on!" And with that, she stormed out of the stable, leaving Gaston alone.
He did care for her but his ego took over him and prevented him to say anything related to the question. He felt that it was his duty to keep her safe, not only physically but emotionally.
He looked around and saw the small picture of her father laying through all of the wheat. She picked it up and saw a very familiar man he saw in the road late at night, Marie's father. He was certain that he was alive, that he didn't burned in the house as Marie believed he did.
Leaving the stable, he hurried back to Le Fou, who was sitting outside of the tavern, waiting for Gaston to enter with him. "LeFou, I need to tell you something," said Gaston, rushing over to his friend. "What is it Gaston?" "I believe Marie's father isn't dead, we need to find him," responded Gaston, handing Le Fou the picture.
LeFou's eyes widened, he had already seen this man, the first night that Marie had spent in the village, he was standing in the entrance of the village, with a hood on. He agreed with the taller man and went inside on the tavern, found a quiet place in it, and started to talk about their new plan.
To find Marie's father, Monsieur Bouvier.
