"What are you doing here? And why do you still have a key?"
Those are the first words Bea hears when she walks into the McCall kitchen, spotting the back of Scott's father, with Scott glaring at him, and Kira behind Scott.
"Funny you mention keys," Agent McCall remarks, not yet noticing Bea's presence. "Because, while I have a key to this house, I'm not exactly sure how you got a key to my office." The man places his laptop on the kitchen table, opening the lid to reveal a picture of Scott and Kira from the other night.
"Let me help you here," Scott's dad starts while Scott sighs in defeat, Kira's eyes wide in fear, "this kind of thing usually begins with something along the lines of, it's not what you think, or, I can explain."
"Dad, let me help you out. You need to leave," Scott demands, noticing how low the sun is in the sky. It's almost time, and having his father in the house will only complicate the situation.
"I will, with a satisfactory explanation."
"Go get a warrant," Bea snaps, causing the man to turn and look at her. She doesn't miss the way his nose turns up in disdain.
"I don't need a warrant, Beatrice," Agent McCall spits, glaring at the redhead. She glares right back, crossing her arms over her chest, standing her ground. "I'm his father."
"No, you're a gene donor," Scott retorts, drawing his father's attention back to him. "I got my hair color from you. And that's all I got. So, you're not allowed to play tough dad with me."
"Hey, what's going on?" a familiar voice asks as they walk through the door. Bea turns to spot Melissa next to her, making her eyes go wide.
"Melissa, what are you doing here? Who's watching over Stiles?" she questions frantically, her heart pumping faster and faster with anxiety.
Melissa places a comforting hand on Bea's shoulder. "Stiles is fine, Bea. I got one of my closest friends to watch over him," the woman explains, then turns back to her ex-husband and son. "What's going on here?"
"Maybe one of you should explain," Agent McCall all but demands, looking to Scott and Kira as the sun sinks below the horizon.
"Maybe you shouldn't be an asshole, but we can't all get what we want," Bea comments, earning another glare from the older man. No remorse fills her, as the man is trying to get her foster father fired.
As the last bit of sun falls below the horizon, all hell breaks loose.
One of the ninjas appears in the living room, its glowing eyes cutting through the darkness. Agent McCall is the first to notice, walking toward the thing. "Scott, who the hell is this?" the man yells, walking closer to the hooded figure.
