"Please tell me you saw that."

Bea grips Stiles' forearm as they watch the coyote run off. They turn to Scott, nodding their heads at his statement. "Yeah, we see it." Once the sentence leaves Stiles' lips, Scott starts running after the animal, leaving his two best friends behind. "Wait, hey, Scott! Scott, wait!"

Stiles and Bea run after him, leaves and sticks crunching beneath their feet. A stitch forms in Bea's side, having not run regularly since before Jennifer. However, that is not the reason she falls to the ground.

The same burning pain from the other night returns full force. Her back hits the hard ground aggressively as an ear splitting scream escapes her lips. Her body writhes on the Preserve floor, sticks poking her back.

Stiles comes to a screeching halt at the sound of her scream, sliding across the fallen leaves on the ground as he tries to turn himself around. He whips around, his heart beating loudly in his ears as he spots the girl squirming on the ground several feet away. He rushes back to her, gripping her hand in his.

She squeezes him tightly, her screaming refusing to cease. "Bea, what's wrong?" the boy asks frantically, his eyes darting around her pain-ridden countenance.

She can't even form words due to the intense burning in her body. Every inch of her is flaming with red hot pain, and he can do nothing to stop it. Her awful screams echo throughout the air, adding sound to the otherwise quiet night. Birds fly from the trees and away from the pair as they stay cemented to their spot on the ground.

Stiles' ears ring from her continuous screaming, and the bones in his hand feel as if they are about to break. But he doesn't let go; he refuses to let go.

It seems like ages until her scream finally fades, definitely longer than the last time. The pain had been many times worse, and she takes in large, deep breaths as she looks up through the trees at the clear, night sky. Thousands of stars look back at her, calming her slightly.

The girl is pulled back to Earth when the face of Stiles Stilinski hovers over hers, his mouth moving in words she can't hear. Everything sounds muted, like a dull ringing in her ears.

After several tries, Stiles realizes she must not be able to hear him. His eyes glance over her ears to see a sticky, red substance leaking from them. Blood.

He hears his heart pound in his ears, and he can only hope it's nothing serious. Stiles watches as she winces in pain with every breath, and he only wishes there was something he could do to help her. However, he's only human, and they don't even know the source of her pain.

Hesitantly, Stiles slips one of his arms around her back, the other one under her knees, and he hoists her up into his arms. Whimpers fall from her mouth as his movements cause more pain, and he mumbles apologies she can't hear over and over, regretting adding to her pain.
