"Well, well, look who're no longer the crazy ones!"
Allison, Stiles, and Scott all roll their eyes at Lydia's comment, the group walking through the front doors of the school after having a brief conversation in the quad about what the three have been experiencing since their sacrifice.
Despite her friends' anxiety, Lydia can't help but feel the faintest satisfaction that she and Bea are no longer the only ones who have felt completely crazy because of their supernatural abilities. It took Lydia months to wipe away the town nutjob title she so gracefully earned after being bit by Peter.
"We're not crazy," Allison argues as they stop in the hallway, Lydia turning around to face them from where she stands a few feet in front of them.
"Hallucinating? Sleep paralysis?" Lydia points out, looking between her three friends with a raised eyebrow. They avoid her gaze, and her red lips smirk as she's made her point.
"Yeah, you guys are totally fine," Bea comments sarcastically, earning a glare from the Stilinski boy in front of her. She simply raises her eyebrow at him, much like Lydia, and folds her arms over her chest as she waits for him to challenge her statement. By the way his jaw clenches, she knows he knows he can't.
"We did die and come back to life," Scott mentions quietly, aware of the ears of the students still in the hall around them. "That's gotta have some side effects, right?"
The school bell echoes throughout the halls, cutting the group's conversation short. Stiles sighs, looking between his friends with seriousness etched on his face. "We keep an eye on each other, okay?" he asks, everyone nodding in agreement. "And Lydia, stop enjoying this so much." Stiles grabs Bea's wrist as they leave the group, just barely hearing Lydia's response.
"What?"
As they walk through the crowded halls, bumping shoulders with other students trying to get to class, Stiles lets his fingers slide from Bea's wrist to slots in her own fingers, sending a deep chill down her spine. A blush overtakes her cheeks as they enter their shared history class, the rest of the pack following behind.
After the sudden depletion of high school teachers during Ms. Blake's reign of terror, everyone's schedules were switched around as different sections were grouped together. Thankfully, the pack managed to get most of their classes to where at least one pair are in the same class together.
They take their seats as the second bell rings, a man Bea doesn't recognize standing at the front of the room behind the teacher's desk. "Good morning, everyone," the Asian man greets with a bright smile on his aging face.
"My name is Mr. Yukimura, and I'll be taking over for your previous history teacher. My family and I moved here three weeks ago. I'm sure by now you all know my daughter, Kira. Or you might not since she's never actually mentioned anyone from school. Or brought a friend home, for that matter."
