Camp grew boring. The artillery had been in tip top shape, and since then their main focus had been working with the soldiers. Kennith was still out forcing Alek to work with the troops everyday. By now even his specially tailored armor was not helping--three weeks had made his stomach swell much more than Allahie could have anticipated.
With them kicking it became apparent they were more and more just...their children. Alek was leaned against the counter beside her, studying her as she cooked him food. "Allahie," Alek murmured.
"Yes, chubby darling?"
"I...I would like to name them." He shifted his stance as Kennith's brawled his wined son. By now the wings were better formed than the legs, making it horrid when his son decided to be active.
"Well we have a girl and a boy right?"
"Yeah, and...another...girl." Alek mumbled rubbing his stomach. He didn't like that Allahie wouldn't consider it hers. That she didn't let it be a part of their family. It was still his baby....
Allahie paused slightly and pursed her lips, "Yes," she sighed, "And another little girl...though Alek, I think Kennith's is a little boy. The way that shit is always picking a fight. Baby or not that's territorial and very common of males to do."
"Lousen said...."
"And I think the medic is wrong. He made his prediction when they were very little. They are getting quite large now." She poked his swollen stomach. Lately his back was aching and even his ankles were slighlty swollen despite her best attempts at support.
"Yeah...." Alek mumbled, and to his surpise Allahie sighed heavily and set down the pan and let the food just simmer.
"Alek, its because I don't like Kennith's baby. What he did was wrong. You are my mate, and he claimed one of the babies as his. That's just...I don't want to deal with it. But I know its your child too...so if it makes you happy, I will consider names with you..." She died off to approach him and wrap her arms around his swollen stomach. He again was shirtless, while she just laid her head on his bare chest. "I know it hurts you, that I don't accept it and I'm sorry."
Aleksandar hugged her tightly and kissed the top of her head, "Thank you."
"Alright, how about a name for the winged shit first?" Allahie laughed, as his whole stomach shifted slightly. Their winged son loved Allahie--and Alek had no doubt he was going to be babied by her. His daughter on the other hand...her magic would light up when it was just him, when he would read a war story or just talk to them.
"I...I...Lucrien (lu-creen)...I...er..." Alek stumbled over his words, in fear of his mate hating his suggestion. Allahie just grinned at him.
"Now I don't want to go off the first name you come up with and keep it, but that just...Lucrien fits him perfectly."
Alek smiled and his mate leaned up to kiss him as she rubbed his stomach. "What about one for the girl?" Allahie questioned, "When Tetra and I were little girls, Isabella (ee-sah-bella) was always what Tetra named her doll."
"I'm down for it..."
"Even thouh she's a mommies girl?" It took Alek a moment to catch on and laugh.
"If it's alright with you Allahie, I don't want to be refered to as mother, even though I had them. I want to be refered to as father. I want you as their mother."
Allahie smiled slightly, "That's fine by me, thouh I am going to tease you."
Alek bit her neck, "They will call me daddy, as you do."
Allahie cracked him on the behind, "Yes, Alek. You can prove that to me, after we come up with a name for the last one."
"Since you insist he is a boy, why not match his brother. Lackrin?"
"I shall go with that. It is a fine fitting name, even if I do not claim him as my own." Alek stopped her from talking more by picking her up and setting her on the counter.
"Now, I believe I have something to prove to you...." he died off, as he shifted himself to be pressed further against her and then kiss her.
