At the end of the day, I was sitting on the front step outside my school. I stare out, watching the drama geeks reciting plays and singing songs from their favorite musicals as they hop into a brown van, and the athletes running around the track and throwing footballs, and everyone else get onto the bus,  cars, and walking away. I exhale deeply, burying my head in my hands. I feel a hand rub my back slowly. Assuming it's Phil, I lean into the touch, smiling.

"Did you find out what to do with Phil?" Alfie asks.

I turn my head to see Alfie attached to the hand rubbing my back. I don't even bother to flinch at this point. I hold the bridge of my nose and lock my eyes with him. "I hate you," I say, no emotion in my voice.

Chuckling lowly, he kisses my head. "I always get what I want" He says. "Oh and those sweatpants are just asking me to slide right in there"

I groan and stand up, "I'm going home"

"Can I come with?" He asks, standing as well.

"No, I need time with my boyfriend" I snap

"He's not your boyfriend for long" He smirks.

Rolling my eyes, I begin walking away. I look around for Phil, seeing him sitting in his car, a sad expression on his face. Tilting my head, I approach him. "Hey Philly"

Phil looks hurt, broken. He looks at me as his eyes fog. "What did Alfie mean 'not for long'?"

Fear strikes my chest as I choke out, "what?"

"Get in the car, (y/n)" he says, his voice shaky.

I open the door and slide into the seat, not daring to look at him. The anticipation of what he will say next aches me, but instead he says nothing.  The silence pierces my ears. I part my lips, but nothing seems to escape. My eyes dart to the window as we sit in silence the entire ride.

The moment when we pull yup to my driveway, I look at Phil pained eyes. "I'm sorry," I say, my voice shaking.

He says nothing and unlocks the door. I got to kiss him, but he turns his face, directing my kiss to his cheek. I nod and look at him one last time before opening the door. I step out of the car, looking only at the cracked concrete beneath my feet. My gym shoes make faint clicking noises with every step.

I'm so sorry about the wait, and the crappy chapter. I just don't k now how I want these next couple chapters to pan out.
