---------3rd Person POV----------Balthazar and Iona LaRue, along with Vasile and Hesperia Alnwick, sat at a round table in a secluded chamber.
"This 'Slayer' is seeking to wipe us out once more," Vasile spoke.
"Calm, beloved. No mortal should dare come close to our Coven," Hesperia assured him, "Balthazar, what shall we do?"
The klavasi who'd previously had his eyes shut in thought, opened them and said, "Nothing will change in the Coven. Be wary of suspicious characters when hunting and inform the kindred to do the same," he concluded.
"Is that all?" Iona asked, "One of our own was on the brink of expiry and what you require of us is to be 'wary?'"
"DO NOT," he silenced her, "question my decisions, Iona. If the mortal threatens us at all, we'll be prepared."
------------Caius's POV-----------
Meanwhile, Caius had finished every book he'd been planning to read from Decadent Moon by Azriel Sullivan to Parable of a Shadow by Hadrian Nolte. He put them away in their designated spots before exiting.
He was met by Desireé, "There you are," she informed him, "My parents assigned us to investigate."
"Now?" Caius squinted at her.
"We're eating on the way, so don't get your fangs in a twist," Desireé sped off.
Reluctantly, Caius followed his significant other out of the Labyrinth.
The sun would be rising soon, so they hid in the darkest shadows.
Finding an opportunity that presented itself, Caius and Desireé trapped a whistling street guitarist, in an alleyway, on either side.
A tag on his case read, Beau Leroy.
He stopped abruptly, "Qu'est-ce que tu veux?" He asked.
"Pou mange," they replied, inching closer to the man before striking.
Caius sank his fangs into Beau's neck, while Desireé consumed his fear.
Ultimately, they killed him and the man collapsed onto the ground.
The Vampyre sighed in satisfaction, "B-Positive blood type," he wiped his mouth.
"You missed a spot," She kissed him.
There was a moment of hesitation that swiftly dissipated. Her lips were soft, and the contact wasn't exactly cold. Even though they were dead, it was lukewarm. As Caius deepened it, Desireé smirked and pulled away.
"Pourquoi si protecteur aujourd'hui?" She asked him innocently.
"Shut up," he glanced away.
The two of them left the alleyway and continued their search.
-----------Ariadne's POV----------
She'd heard the screams of a person as she was roaming the streets and rushed to the source, "This early in the day?" She thought.
Serrano was met by a dead body with two holes in his neck that drizzled blood. His expression was frozen with shock and fear.
"They were here," she sniffed the air, sensing the cool air of the brightening atmosphere. She sniffed again and picked up the scent of vanilla, "Found you," she chuckled, then zipped away.
