Masky's P.O.V

I ran after Hoodie following him to his and Toby's room. He slammed the door behind him shutting me out. I let out a soft sigh and knock on the door gently. "Hoodie?" I asked softly. I can barely make out Hoodie's mumbled reply, "Go away Tim." "Hoodie don't listen to that b*tch. We were arguing and she heard you coming and said all of those cruel things to hurt you." After a few minutes of not responding I start to beg, "Please Hoodie. Please let me in." There is still no response. I let out another sigh and slide down, my back to the door, "I'm not leaving until you let me in."

I don't hear a response and after a few minutes I get an idea, "Hoodie if you don't open the door I'm gonna start singing." I was again met by silence, "Alright I warned you." I get up and quickly head over to my room grabbing my ukulele out of the back of my closet before blowing the dust off of the case. I open it up and tune it before heading back over to the door and leaning against the wall next to it. I start strumming the first song that comes to my head.

And so I cry sometimes

When I'm lying in bed

Just to get it all out

What's in my head

And I am feeling a little peculiar

And so I wake up in the morning

And I step outside

And I take a deep breath and I get real high

And I scream at the top of my lungs

What's going on?

And I say, hey hey hey hey

I sing the next part as loud and obnoxiously as I possibly can.

I said hey, what's going on?

I hear a stifled laugh from behind the door. A few moments later I watch as Hoodie slowly comes out of the room wiping at his eyes with his sleeve. "I haven't heard you play that ukulele since college," Hoodie says softly. We both sit down against the wall to talk. "Hey don't believe anything Kate said. She knew you were there and she was angry," I said softly wrapping an arm around him, "I'm sorry I didn't see what she was doing sooner. But hey lets pretend it's just you and me again, alright? Like old times."  Hoodie nods a small smile starting to break through, "Your singing still s*cks." "Well I had to improvise since my little song bird was feeling blue," I chuckle and smile softly at him. I watch as his cheeks turn a bit pink before I start strumming that same song again, "Like old times?" Hoodie smiles, "Like old times." I continue to strum and he starts singing. God I missed his voice.

Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
And I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of man
For whatever that means

And so I cry sometimes
When I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What's in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar

And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What's going on?

And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what's going on?

ooh, ooh ooh

And I try, oh my god do I try
I try all the time, in this institution
And I pray, oh my god do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution

And so I cry sometimes
When I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What's in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What's going on?

And I say, hey hey hey hey

I said hey, what's going on?

Twenty-five years and my life is still

Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
