"What are you thinking?" His smooth honeysuckle tone cut into her thought.

"Nothing. Its just peaceful out here"

She could feel his gaze on her but she kept her eyes on Emma who was running along the shore chasing  fireflies.

Edwardus had made them strawberry cream square and served it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Her first thought was, was there nothing he could make. Absolutely everything he had ever served her was delicious. She found herself lost in her thoughts after she had tried asking him questions about himself to which he had skillfully answered without giving too much away.

Why does it matter anyway. OK fine he is the most beautiful man I've ever seem but he was also not here to stay. Makes no sense learning every detail about him just to get hurt when he leaves. Its best to just keep things casual.

She turned to look at him and was surprised to find him smiling at her. Or a half smile at least.

"What?" She asked

"You haven't heard a word I've been saying"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was lost in my thoughts"

"OK so again I'll ask. What's on your mind"

She looked into his eyes and blushed and shook her head.

"Nothing. I guess I have too much free time on my hands lately. I find myself thinking a lot"

"Why so much free time?"

"Well we recently got two new doctors added to the staff. We split the duty three way so I have way more time than I'm use to having"

"Isn't that a good thing?"

"Yes and no"

She smiled when he raised a eyebrow at her.

"Its a good thing because I get to spend more time with Emma and not overwork myself. The downside is having a lot of time on my hands with so little to do it gives me time to think which leads to over thinking. Over thinking leads to stressing"

"Find relaxing activities to do then"

"There isn't much to do in such a small town."

"Maybe you're not looking hard enough"

"OK Mr. Know it all, you suggest to me some things to do."
