The sun begins to shine through the cave entrance as I begin to wake up. Katniss and Peeta are still sleeping. Typical. Taking my time, I stretch, before jumping up and walking out of the cave.

It's quite a warm day, but not hot enough to burn. I walk along the river for a while, debating which part of the river to wash myself with, not that it matters, It's only my face. I end up at the bottom of the river, where the water is pouring down. I didn't realize I had that many scars and cuts on my face. I literally have to scrub some blood off my neck from those flesh eating rats. That was when I was with Rue.

Damn it Luce damn it

I splash my face with more cold water, then my arms. After that, I take out my whip, and make breakfast, well, catch one fish, the only one left in the river. Maybe the game-makers are keeping food away so it'll draw us to a battle. Fat chance. I know what their little plan is, but we'll have to move soon, we need to eat, but then again we can't stay away from our water source for too long either.

"Hi" I jump, and slowly turn around to the voice of Peeta.

"Hey, how's your leg?"

"Much better, I can actually walk on it now" He slumps down next to me.

"Where's Katniss?"

"Coming now, she's just packing up"

"Good, we need to be on the move" We all eat small parts of the fish, we left a bit for later tonight. Halfway through our discussion of absolute nothing, Katniss and Peeta got up to hunt.

"While you're away think of who's left, my brain's never been good with numbers" They both nod, and walk through the river, and to the other side.

The medicine worked for both Katniss and Peeta, although he's liming, Katniss' scar doesn't stop her from doing anything. My injuries aren't that bad, suppose they just needed cleaning.

Bang. A cannon sounds. I wait to hear Katniss and Peeta running back, but they don't come.

"Katniss?" I raise the knife, and walk towards their direction. "Peeta?" Birds start flying around in my direction, I know I'm close by. But before I can call their names again, I trip over. And not the kind where you trip over your own feet, more like the trip over a dead body kind. Yeah, as you can tell I am experienced. It's the girl from District five, the red head, Foxface is the nickname Peeta came up with? I remember her in training, she was amazing with poison berries. But then when I look down at her properly, she's eaten something. Berries. Why? Was it by mistake? No, it can't have been, she didn't get a single one wrong in the training center. It must have been suicide.

The snap of a twig awakens me from my thoughts, and before I know it, I'm face to face with Katniss and Peeta.

"Did you kill her?" Was their first question.

"No. She ate some poison berries" I tell them. They both look at each other, and crouch down.

"I never even knew she was following me"

"You picked the berries then?" He nods

"She's clever"

"Too clever" I say, as Katniss collects the berries from her hands

"What are you doing?"

"Maybe Cato likes berries too" I doubt it I think, but obviously don't say it out loud. She places them in her backpack, and we leave the dead body there. 19 down, 5 to go.

"What time is it?" Peeta asks, as we make our way into a clearing.

"Well afternoon" Katniss answers.

"Why is it getting so dark?"

"They must be in a hurry to end it." I state, as the weather literally has a mood swing. The light is getting darker, and the warm breeze is turning cool. The cooler it gets, the more you can see our breath when we breath out. We're treading carefully on the ground, knowing if we don't walk quietly it'll make us an easy target to Cato, Thresh, and the mutts.

"Jesus Peeta! Tread lightly!" I whisper frantically, Katniss turns round, and gives us both a funny look, not the one you laugh at, more of the one where you shut up in case they turn right around and slap you across the face. We continue walking what seems like forever through the forest, as quietly as we can until wolves or dogs howl, there's a horrible cry of pain and screams booming around the arena. I walk in front of them both, trying to figure out which direction it's coming from.

"What was that?"

"It's the best part" I turn to face them "It's the finale"

Thresh's face illuminates into the sky, and that's how I know it's a dangerous mutt. I'm glad it's him, I don't think I could have killed him after he didn't kill Katniss for me.

"Let's go" Katniss whispers, and brushes past me.

Knife raised and arrows sharp, Katniss and I prepare for anything to pop out of the bushes. Peeta's just trying to keep quiet. My heart's hammering, I hate the final battle, which I am sure that when the mutts will chase us into.

I would say I don't care, but knowing I'm not going to get out of here alive, I couldn't be more terrified.
