ROY
When we got back, everyone was already inside the woods searching for the flags. Left in their place were only two helmets obviously left for us, that were plummeted blue and red.
I looked over to Lavender, internally pleading she wanted the red helmet as I asked her which team she was on. I exhaled a breathe of relief, as she uttered the words red. I picked it up from the log and threw the bronze helmet into her arms. As I bent down reaching for the blue plummeted one, Lavender held out her palm "Wait"
I paused, standing up straight again as I furrowed my eyebrows. What was she going to do know? Tell me the horse hair was too sharp? In fact, she didn't do either of those things, she just stared at it intently. She just stared at it.
This girl must have been a little off her rocker because she hadn't taken her eyes off of it for one second and we'd been standing here for at least two minutes already.
Suddenly with a rough start, the helmet sprang to life and hovered over my head. I felt a hard sensation as the helmet crashed down on it, it's metal hurting my temples. I quickly pulled the helmet off, frizzing up hair.
"Hey!" I glared at a laughing Lavender, "That hurt!"
She smiled to herself, "Yes! I can actually do it now! I've been working on that all month!"
I felt my now throbbing head, "Gosh dang it, Roy! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" I muttered to myself, "How did you do that anyway?"
Lavender smiled proudly, "Lavender Arks, daughter of Hecate, the goddess of magic at your service."
Realization hit me and I smiled brightly, "That's so cool! Wait.... Can you-"
Lavender stopped me right there. "No Roy, I will not pull pranks on people for you."
I put my helmet back on and crossed my arms smirking, "How did you know I was gonna say that? Maybe I was gonna ask you to find out the answers to my math homework."
She smiled and pivoted her lips downward as to say 'not bad' and shook her head.
"Yeah... You were going to say that. But anyhow if you need any help with your math homework, you can ask Annabeth or any of the Athena kids. Though I'd rather you go to Malcom, he specializes in arithmetic. Annabeth mostly works on all architecture."
I nodded my head, outstretching my hand "Well, seems like here we make our departure, dear friend."
Lavender extended her hand as well and nodded her head. "Guess so, my friend I met just like twenty minutes ago."
I smiled and saluted to her as she ran off into the woods, and I walked into the opposite set of woods covering a rolling set of hills. After traveling and wondering around absent mindedly, I stumbled across certain black haired boy in a motorcycle jacket sitting upon rocks. The rocks he was sitting on I heard other campers call 'Zeus Fist'. I have to agree, the mound of ash grey rubble actually did resemble a fist somehow.
After checking to make sure no competitors were around, and I creeped up on him, "Hey pretty boy, afraid to get your hands dirty?"
Nico turned around abruptly, his eyes frightened and wide, before slipping off the sunken rocks with a large stumble and landing onto the grassy earth.
I threw my helmet down, and ran towards him "Nico!" I bent down near his body on the plain and once I got there and wiped his thick black hair from his forehead and I pulled it, checking for blood or other damages. As I put my head to his chest I felt it rise up and down slowly, meaning he wasn't actually dead.
