Is it better to get your hopes up, then fail
Or just be hopelessly outmatched from the beginning
Most would say "but you have to try"
Or "failure breeds success"
But you're failing right now
And it sucks
At least you know the outcome when you're being thrashed around
You know you'll lose
And that gives you comfort
You can comfortably fight the inevitable
And go down like a hero
While if you almost succeed
If you feel the victory just out of reach
And then have it slamed away from you
I don't know
That seems like a tougher blow to take
