A week went by fast. I was at work one night when an attractive guy walked in. One quick glance at Sarah and I knew she knew what I was thinking. He walked up to the counter to place his order. I grabbed the medium coffee cup to make it and asked his name. We were busy, so we had to write customers' names on the cups.

"Evan," he replied. I smiled and wrote his name on the cup. Sarah started to help the next customer, which told me she was done making coffee for now. I decided to ask him some questions, I haven't seen him in town before.

"So, Evan," I paused so he could finish what he was writing. "Are you new to town or just passing through?" I hoped I wasn't sounding to foward.

He looked at me and smiled. "I'm new to town. I actually took a break from unpacking to get some coffee and some food. Do you know anywhere that would be great for food?"

"As a matter of fact, I know a great place. If you aren't in too much of a hurry, I get off in ten minutes and can personally show you where it's at. I am going to get food once I am done, myself." I offered to show him, even though it was in walking distance, because someone who is a friendly face in a new town is good to have. And I was starving, already having plans to go there.

He looked thoughtful for a moment and replied, "I think that sounds great. I will go settle in a seat over there until you're done." Evan took his coffee and cookie and sat down in a corner booth, as he said, waiting for my shift to end.

After our last customer, and we counted the drawer and tips, Sarah told me to leave and she would lock up. I hugged her, grabbed my half of the tip money and headed out the door with Evan on my heels. He looked confused after I passed the four cars in the parking lot. I laughed at his expression.

"Bella's is right down the road and across the street. Personally, Bella's has the best food in town and she is like a mother to me. If you want to be technical, she is my aunt on my father's side," I explained to him. He smiled then. It must have been the love and admiration in my voice.

The next thing that came from his mouth, though, made my jaw drop. "My mother grew up here as a kid. Her parents moved her and her sister up north when she was sixteen. She told me she wanted to come back, but she met my dad and never looked back. As soon as I could I started reading the newspaper and watching the news for this place. I know what happened three years ago to Bella's brother and her sister-in-law. I know they had a daughter, but nothing was ever released because of her age. From what you said, I assume that is you."

My face, as hard as I tried not to, crumbled slightly and tears started to form. I cursed quietly to myself and tried to stop the tears. I looked up at his face and nodded. I felt the lump in my throat and didn't feel like choking on the memories of my past. I looked away to wipe away the tears. Warm arms were suddenly around me, as if to try to comfort me. An action I was not used to, I cleared my throat and said, " We can't keep her waiting. She has closed up shop, but her cook waits so I can get something to eat before he leaves for the night."

I glanced behind me once we got to the door. Evan looked like he almost regreted what he said. "Hey, Evan," I said with my hand on the doorknob. "Don't worry about what you said. That whole year after it happened, I rebelled against everything I knew. I was horrible. Every time someone would mention it, I literally threw something at them. People stopped bringing it up. A week before the anniversary of there death, you could feel the anxiety. No one knew if I was going to explode after my rebel behavior. Two days before, someone transferred to our school and asked why the atmosphere was the way it was. When he confornted me about my parents death, I could sense pure fear in the atmosphere and the teachers and students. I had told him thanks and ran to the bathroom and cried.

"I had turned fourteen and realized everyone was afraid of me. That next day I didn't go to school. My friend Sarah, god I love her for being with me even though I was horrible, came over after school to make sure I was okay. I told her about the kid the day before and that I wasn't being me. She came up with the idea of us wearing black on that day to mourn my parents. This girl is like a sister to me and she didn't want to see me go downhill." By this point of telling my story, we had sat down with my aunt and our food was in front of us, still warm. "So the next day I went to school in all black. I brought my grades back up and people weren't afraid I would blow up and throw things at them if they said the wrong thing. If it wasn't for that one student, I would not be me. I thank him every year for it."

He smiled once I finished my story. He apologized for making me sad, but I told him I'm always sad. "I am still mourning my parents. It's been three years since their death, but I still mourn."

After our meal was done, my aunt gave me a hug. Evan and I walked back to our cars. He still had a very sorrow filled look on his face. We walked to my car first. I unlocked my door and he opened it for me. The look in my eyes must have prompt him to say what he did. "I really am truly sorry about your parents."

A/N- So now we have a little bit of info on what happened to her after everything happened. We know why she wears black on her parents death anniversary. We still haven't truly been revealed her name. I am putting it into the story, this is just how 1st person p.o.v goes.
