A week later, I was doing dishes in my kitchen. I had earbuds in my ears. Music from hundreds of years ago still sounded good and was uploaded on my phone. People always question my choice in music, but I never care. Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke had just ended and Confident by Demi Lovato was next. I loved the way the song made me feel. I felt like I could do anything. I finished the last dish as she started singing.

Quickly, I put the song on repeat. I danced and sang along all around my house. After it played for the fifth time, my phone vibrated. I stopped and pulled it out of my pocket. It was from Evan. As much as you are an amazing singer, Sarah and I have been out here and you have sang it three times. Please answer the door. I laughed when I realized I was so into the song, I forgot my plans with Sarah. Secretly, I was glad Evan was here, too. Can't scare him off. I jogged over to the door to open it. Once I opened the door, I saw Sarah's grin. Shit. Now I have to explain why there is a guy here on girls day.

"Y'all come in,"I said as if I didn't see her face. "So I have an array of movies out, a shit ton of popcorn to pop and so much soda we shouldn't be able to sleep tonight. And since I'm hosting, y'all are picking from my movies I got out, since I already picked."

"Joy,do you mind coming to the kitchen for a second? We have to see if Aunt Bella is coming or not," Sarah said. I know that was just a cover up for the real reason. When we walked into the kitchen, she spun me towards her. The brightness from her curiosity and excitement shone in her eyes. I sighed when she started bouncing in place. "Girl, you have to tell me everything. I went to Bella's last week and she said you were spending the day with some guy. Why didn't you tell e about him?" She tried to keep a whisper. I texted my aunt so I could have an update if she was coming or not. Then I put my phone down.

"Sarah, calm down. I'm not seeing the guy," I whispered. "I just met him two weeks ago at work. I figured the guy could use a friendly face. Plus, Evan is super sweet. Such a gentleman. I doubt he would be into me anyways. I am such a nut. Even you think I'm a nut." Yes I think I'm a nut, but I embrace it, so I don't take it as a bad thing.

"Joy, he waited until you sang the song for the who knows how many time just to listen to you. I gave him my look," oh god she gave him the look, "and he literally said 'I just showed up hoping she isn't busy.' I told him we were having a girls day, but we could open up and he could join. Do you realize that guy had that look in his eyes. He totally digs you. And he ain't bad looking either, hun. You should totally go for him. Joy, you need some happiness in you life, right now especially." She seemed almost desperate.

"Sarah," I started.

"No, Joy. I don't want to hear the whole ' my parents were killed so I don't deserve happiness' speech. I have heard it so many times now, I could say it for you. It's not your fault they died. They would want you to be happy with someone." Sarah loves to prove her point.

"Sarah," I tried again.

"Joy, hun, I swear I will say the speech now. I don't want to, but I will. Please just hear me out, watch and see what I'm talking about. At least try to be happy." Once again, she interrupted.

"Sarah, let me talk," I said in a hushed tone. "Jeez, girl, I forgot you talk way too much when you're excited. Okay, I will see what you are talking about if it shuts you up. I love you, but damn. Let's get back out there, now. I'm ready to relax."

Hours, and several movies, later they both left. Even though I had a great time trying to relax, Sarah's words rang in the back of my mind. Honestly, I didn't see what she was talking about. I just chalked it up to her being desperate for me to have a boyfriend. She knows how I feel on the subject. It's always her trying to hook me up with guys, but I never go along with it. It gets pretty annoying, but I know she means well.

I looked at the time and noticed how late it was. Cleaning will have to wait. Sleepily, I climbed into bed. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
