Chapter 3
Aleksandra's POV
Damien. Also known as the biggest asshole/psychopath that has ever lived. "What do you want, Demon?"
He smiled that horribly chilling smile at me. "I just came to see how you were doing." All of the other 'scientists' said that they studied me for 'the benefit of humanity', but Damien didn't even bother saying that. He just liked to watch people suffer in pain.
"Enjoy the show, you fucker." He just kept that grin on his face and stared at me. I knew what he wanted. He wanted to hear me cry out or at the very least whimper in pain. I never did. No matter how intense the agony was, I never screamed or made a sound.
They did 'studies' on that, too. Guess who tortured me during those tests. Damien, of course. Just thinking of what they did made me want to shudder. Whips, spikes, razor blades, fists, even a hammer. I had stayed completely silent. Then they tried to see how long it would take me to heal a broken bone. Bastards.
I kept on a poker face while Damien watched me. His grin lessened slightly. "This is boring. Your spirit is incredibly hard to break. It's quite fascinating, really. Nearly four years and you're still strong. I can't wait to see how much longer you last." With that, he left.
Nearly four years? I had just turned 12 when I came here, so did that mean I was 16 now? Whatever, it wasn't like it mattered. The spot that connected me to Aleksander started to feel weird; like something was poking at it. I undid the mental wall thing and he thought to me, 'What happened?'
'Nothing. I think you should just forget about me.' It wasn't like he could get me out of here; I wasn't even sure if I was in America.
'Fuck that. You're in my head, it's not like I could anyway.'
'I could put up that mental wall or shield thingy again.'
'I'd rather figure out why the fuck this is happening to us and who you are.'
'What's today's date?' I asked him.
'What kind of question is that?'
'Could you just answer it? Please?'
'December 15, 2009.'
It's my birthday? Fantastic, I get to spend my sweet sixteen here.
'No, it's mine.'
'You weren't supposed to hear that. What do you mean it's yours?'
'Today's my sixteenth birthday.'
We both paused as we reached the same conclusion. 'Were you born on December 15, 1993?' I asked slowly.
'Yeah... Hold on a second.' I could tell he was going back into the bathroom. 'You can see through my eyes, right?'
'Yup.'
He looked in the mirror and I froze. We had the same exact eyes and blonde hair, but his was a bit darker than mine. 'Do we look alike?'
Well gee, I wouldn't know; I haven't looked at myself in a mirror in four years.
'What?!'
'Ah, shit, this is getting really annoying. So I can't think anything without you knowing?'
'Uh, duh. What the fuck do you mean you haven't looked in a mirror?'
'I mean there's no mirror here.'
'Where are you?'
'Good question. I really wish I could answer that.'
'I can see that you're in a gray room, that's it.'
