Chapter 9 : Bomi's Past

After Taeyeon left his office, Baekhyun let out a sigh of relief.

"Why don't you just have lunch with your wife?" Bomi asked, as she lifted one of her brows and stared at him. Baekhyun cleared his throat and smile.

"Uh... I thought, it won't look great as much as I'm leaving you he-"

"Are you asking me out on a lunch date with you?" She teased.

"Uh, something like that?" He scratched the back of his head and laughed.

"Sure, let's go!" Bomi smiled and grabbed his arm.

"Did you starve yourself, Bomi?" Baekhyun asked, as he watched her stuff all the food into her mouth at once. He was stunned just looking at her.

"I haven't eaten much while I was in America. You know, since my parents had taken over my space. It was hard and-" She stopped.

"And?" Baekhyun asked.

"I left them." Baekhyun's eyes widened.

"You left America just to see me?" He asked, surprised.

"I thought that after I ditch them and come back to you again, you know..." She took a deep breath.

"...I thought you waited for me." She said. Baekhyun was taken aback, his eyes wander around.

"What did they do to you?"

"They locked me up. I only got to leave the room on Sunday's. That's the rule. They trained me, they healed me, they told me I was damaged. My parents. They said that to me."

"I'm sorry, I didn't know about all of this." He apologized.

"I missed my son and I missed you." Bomi weakly smiled at him.

"It feels like I was tortured more than treated."

"But now that you're here, I'm glad that Dohyun's okay, too." Baekhyun bit his lower lip and sighed.

"I'm sorry." He apologized again. Bomi looked up at him and smiled.

"I understand, Baekhyun. It's fine. Maybe we aren't meant for each other..." The words strike Baekhyun straight on the chest. After she told him her situation in America, it just teared him apart.

"At least we could be friends again." She said, shooting him with her smile again. He had to admit that he missed her. And he still did loved her. But he was married. Nothing could change that.

"Well, how did you meet Taeyeon?" She asked.

"She's the one who helped me with everything. I guess I fell for her in the middle of that. While I was still not really in a good condition after you left. She had fill in your spot."

"Ouch." Bomi joked.

"S-sorry. But... That happens." He said.

"I am actually glad that you found a good person who could make you happy. I guess, I'm going to book a flight and head back to America..." Bomi let out a heavy sigh. Baekhyun held her hand and shook his head in disapproval.

"No. Just stay here. I don't want them to torture you again. It's best if you just stay here."

"What will I do? My intention of coming here was totally ruined. I've lost everything, Baekhyun. Dohyun didn't even recognize me. And you're.... married to Taeyeon. And I'm just.... nothing. Nothing's left for me."

"But I'm here, Bomi." He said.

"How I wish I could turn back time and change everything. How I wish I could protect you from your parents. But everything just..." He sighed.

Bomi just stared at him and he stared back. No more words needed. It's clear that both regret that they couldn't protect each other's love. And they were already too late for that.

"I'm back!" Baekhyun opened the door and placed his keys on the drawer. He looked at the living room and saw Dohyun sleeping on the couch. Whenever he saw him, he will think of Bomi. He just can't forget her.

"You look like Sleeping Beauty, Dohyunnie." He walked closer to the couch and sit beside him.

"I'm sorry that everything had turn out this way..." He looked at Dohyun's face and caressed his cheek.

"I know what I did was wrong. And I've hurt both of them. Guess I'm such a bastard now..." He talked to himself.

"I'm lost now. I don't know how I feel for both of them. I love Taeyeon but I still love Bomi..." He sigh. Dohyun still didn't move.

"Is he tired that much?" Baekhyun asked himself, as he moved closer to Dohyun.

"Dohyunnie?" He softly whispered. But he didn't respond.

"Dohyun?" Baekhyun shook his arms. He leaned down closer to his chest and checked his nose.

"Oh my god, he's not breathing!"
