Chapter 10 : Sleep Apnea

"Taeyeon, get the car keys!" Baekhyun shouted and scooped Dohyun into his arms.

Taeyeon dash out of the room as she heard Baekhyun shout.

"Baekhyun, what happened?!" Taeyeon asked, worry in her voice.

"Dohyun's not breathing! Hurry!" Baekhyun answered.

Nothing was processing in Baekhyun's head. The next thing he knew is that him, Taeyeon, and Dohyun were now at the hospital.

"Someone, help my son!" Baekhyun shouted inside the hospital. A couple of nurses came to Baekhyun with the hospital stretcher and he laid Dohyun there.

They begin bringing Dohyun into another room, Taeyeon and Baekhyun following them.

"I'm sorry but, you can't come inside. Please wait outside." One of the nurses stopped Baekhyun and Taeyeon.

"But our son is in there!" Taeyeon argued.

"I know, ma'am. But rules are rules." She said and then went inside of the ER room.

"Dohyunnie, please breathe, please." Baekhyun started pacing back and forth.

Taeyeon couldn't help but bite her lower lip.

"Baekhyun, what if something happens to Dohyun? We can't lose him!" Taeyeon cried.

Baekhyun only hugged her and pat her back. "Sh... it's okay. Dohyun is a warrior. He can fight this..."

Baekhyun broke the hug and sat down, Taeyeon following him.

Thirty minutes passed as tension began building up inside Taeyeon.

What's taking them so long? Taeyeon thought.

A couple of minutes later, the doctor came out of the emergency room, making Baekhyun and Taeyeon stand up.

The doctor removed his mask. "Are you the parents of Byun Dohyun?"

"Yes, we are." Taeyeon answered.

"As we observed him, it seems like your son has some type of disorder..."

Taeyeon and Baekhyun's eyes widen.

"Disorder? What kind of disorder?" Taeyeon asked worriedly.

"It's a sleeping disorder called sleep apnea."

"Doc, how did our son get that?" Taeyeon asked.

"These are the symptoms of sleep apnea: snoring that are often associated with pauses, snorts, or gasps; heavy breathing while sleeping; very restless sleep and sleeping in unusual positions; and daytime sleepiness or behavioral problems."

"From what we discovered, Dohyun snores and has heavy breathing while sleeping. So he has two symptoms of this disorder."

"How did he get this disorder?" Baekhyun asked.

"Apparently, it seems like it was in his genes. Perhaps one of you guys have sleep apnea...?"

Baekhyun and Taeyeon looked at each other, confusion written on their faces.

Taeyeon turned back to the doctor. "I don't think we have that disorder. Our parents don't have that, either."

"Really? That seems fairly odd. Dohyun inherited this disorder from one of you. Are you sure that you guys don't have this disorder?"

Taeyeon nodded. "We're positive."

"Huh... I see. We'll have to observe him one more time. Excuse me..."

Taeyeon turned to Baekhyun. "Baek, l'll just use the restroom. I'll be right back."

Baekhyun nodded as Taeyeon left to use the restroom.

Something suddenly struck to him, making him gasp.

Does Bomi have sleep apnea? Baekhyun thought.

The next day, he called Bomi.

["What do you need, Baekhyun?"]

"Bomi, I need to talk to you."

["Talk to me? About what? Oh gods, Baekhyun, stop being so serio-"]

"This is important, Bomi." Baekhyun said, sternly.

["A-Alright, I'll text you my address."]

"What happened, Baekhyun? What's important?" Bomi asked, as Baekhyun entered Bomi's apartment.

"Bomi, do you have sleep apnea?" Baekhyun asked her.

Bomi's eyes widen. "H-How do you know?"

Baekhyun's eyes widen. "You have sleep apnea, B-Bomi?"

"How'd you find out, Baekhyun?" Bomi gasp.

"D-Dohyun has sleep apnea..." Baekhyun answered.

Bomi's eyes widened. "WHAT?!"

"He wasn't breathing when I got home yesterday... so Taeyeon and I hurriedly brought him to the emergency room. The doctor came out later on and said that Dohyun has sleep apnea, and that he inherited it from either Taeyeon and I." Baekhyun said.

"But Taeyeon isn't even his real mother. It's you." Baekhyun added.

Bomi placed her hand over her mouth. "Oh my gods... what have I done?!"

"Bomi... how did you get sleep apnea?" Baekhyun asked.

Bomi stared at him, worry in her eyes.

"While I was pregnant with Dohyun, I encountered a couple of disorders. But luckily, I treated almost all of them. But just not sleep apnea..."

Baekhyun's mouth formed an o. "You... you had complications while you were pregnant with Dohyun?"

Bomi nodded.

"You don't know what my parents did to me when I was pregnant with Dohyun..."

"...they didn't let me eat very well, they wanted Dohyun to die, and they wanted me to suffer. Apparently, they said this is what I should get. I deserve to suffer. And they fulfilled it. But, thank God that Dohyun was healthy when I gave birth to him..." A tear escaped Bomi's eyes, making Baekhyun surprise a bit.

"B-Bomi..."

"Baekhyun, this is all my fault!" Bomi suddenly cried.

"Bomi... no one wanted this to happen, okay? This isn't your fault!" Baekhyun tried to calm Bomi down.

"Baekhyun, because of me, Dohyun is now in the hospital! How I wish I didn't get the disorders when I was still pregnant with him!"

"Bomi, don't say that!" Baekhyun said and pinned Bomi against the wall.

"Please, Bomi... don't say that." Baekhyun's voice got lower and deeper.

Bomi stared into his alluring eyes, seeing sincerity in them.

In no time, their lips came in touch.

Bomi grabbed a fistful of Baekhyun's hair, as he trailed down her neck, leaving small light kisses.

"B-Baekhyun..." Bomi moaned.

Baekhyun carried her, as Bomi wrapped her legs around his waist.

They continued kissing, as he opened the door to Bomi's bedroom and closed it right after they were inside.

And beyond that bedroom door, is something that will cause them even more trouble than there it already is.
