Chapter 6: The truth

Have you ever felt like entering a courtroom and the judge is staring at you, watching your every movement?

So, here Rose was our judge. She was staring at me and asked me to sit by her side to have our dinner.
" Now that we are free, you can start to talk."
And ladies and gentlemen, the hearing begins!
God, this woman will not leave me in peace!
" Hmm Rose, let me finish the dinner please?? It's really too good."

" No, my dear you have to speak fast.!"
Here we go then.

" Rose, you know how I always respected everybody in this house, right? And that I was in.., no actually I am still in love with Giorgio. It is the twins that caused all of these misunderstandings.

4 years ago, while I was still coming into this house, Giorgio and I always went into the backyard to talk about everything that happened to us during the day or what our dreams and plans were for the future. I told him I wanted to be a princess and that phrase which I thought was romantic turned out to be a curse to me.

The following day, I received a letter signed by Giorgio (your prince). I thought that finally, Giorgio came to his senses and noticed my love for him. I knew he loved me, the way he talked to me and mentioned me in his future plans I knew in my heart that he will always be by my side.

So, the letter said to meet him at Azzurro Hotel in room #219 that afternoon. I prepared myself and went there. At the lobby when I asked to meet Mr. Gusto in that room, they directed me to the elevator. When I reached the front of the room, my heart was beating so fast I thought I would explode!

I knocked three times, that was always our knock code. Since he did not respond as usual, I turned the knob and entered to actually see an empty room. I ventured inside and saw luggage and a man sitting on the sofa but not facing me. I called him but he did not answer. Suddenly someone placed a handkerchief on my mouth and was knocked out. I was chloroformed. I woke up in the hotel room naked and my makeup ruined! The worst part was that I did not actually remember what happened to me! I thought I was raped. It was the note left by the bed that at least made me a bit relieved but also ashamed.

It was written that ' don't worry your dignity is intact we just needed pictures of you sleeping with other guys. Don't ever think to put your dirty paws on our brother again! '

There were like 50 or more pictures of me and guys that I have never seen in my entire life! So, those pictures reached Giorgio. And guess what he believed those pictures because he thought I was selling my body to become a damn princess! He insulted me!

Called me a bit**h and don't know what more words! The twins insulted me in front of people in the streets saying that I was a prostitute.

Everybody was pointing fingers at me. I never got the chance to explain myself! Gio never listened to me! He just believed what his sisters said. His mother also believed them.

I never told my dad what happened, but I think he knew that something was wrong and he did not let me leave the house. So, I just decided to go to college and forget things that happened. To tell you the truth I was not able to forget Gio. I still love him. But he broke my heart!

When I realized that the sisters heard my conversation with Gio regarding the princess matter I came to confront them for the last time before going away. But before I could even say a word. They screamed and called Gio and told him that I came here to say that I was pregnant and I'm running away."

After completing my sad long story, I could see that neither Rose nor me had even a morsel of the meal. She was taking my hand and trying to comfort me. I did not realize that I was even crying.
"Oh my god dear, you went through so much at a young age. You could have told me this earlier. I would have helped you. This time I will surely help you, I would even use my rolling pin on those evil twins!!"

"No Rose, it's of no use. I don't even have evidence to prove myself to Gio."

" Oh, dear you do have one proof".

When Rose said that I was in deep thought of what proof I have, but my mind went blank. Suddenly from the kitchen door someone said;

"Yes, you do have one thing!"

When I turned to see who it was, all the color drained from my face.
" Mrs. Gusto!!"
