Drowning in Myself

Everything you say hits me like a wave and right now, there is a tsunami, and as I'm skinking to the bottom of this ocean, I'm staring at the sun as it kisses the surface of the water. I cannot help but be reminded of how the color of the water mingles with the soft orange glow of the sun's rays look like your eyes. This moment is when I realize that I'm in too deep. I cannot let myself drown in your words, and in every broken promise of 'us.' But now the water is filling my lungs, and I'm screaming for help. Can't you see me struggling? You hear me yelling your name, begging you to come back and save me, and all you do is whisper, "Learn how to swim."
