Stop romanticizing depression.

There are no pretty words or phrases to explain or describe it.

Hating yourself is not pretty.

Hurting yourself is not pretty.

Isolating yourself is not pretty.

Neither is staying up all night, crying your eyes out because you really hate the way your life is.

Your grades dropping because you can't push yourself to care like you used to is not pretty.

Fighting with your family and friends constantly because they don't get it is not pretty.

Literally nothing about it is pretty.

It's actually really disgusting, if you think about it.

Stop putting a flower crown on depressed people and throwing them up on a pedestal to tell their life story only because that's what you think they need.

Most people don't need very many people to know their story, they just need one person who will be consistent in their life.

Just one.

Only because if a group of people know, then you are labeled as an attention whore.

Isn't that setting people up for failure?

Another thing that's not pretty is the fact that I can't put my thoughts into words at 10:30 at night, when I should most definitely be sleeping, but can't stop thinking.
