Dear happy

when i'm with you i smile

so if you wouldn't mind

would you stay for a while?

around you, bad thoughts run away

so if you really cared

would you please stay?

i've noticed when i'm with you your eyes glow

so i think we should agree

we shouldn't let each other go

"Dear sad," i hear you saying

"you're what i've wished for

and why i'm praying."

"But love," i hear you say

"i love you

Just not the same way."

"we can be friends," i hear you consider

"just not forever

please don't be bitter."

Dear happy, i say in reply

I still love you

though you've made me cry.
