Wings Of Fire: Fan fiction: The Darkness Of The Ocean

Chapter Five:

Darkocean woke with a yawn. She drowsily stood, she blinked when she smelt smoke.

Darkocean looked over,Nightbreak was cooking,"Ohh! What is it?" She asked, walking over to him. She yawned.

"Tunara..." He humbled tiredly,"Your favorite..."

The Tunara was huge, it could easily fill three full grown dragons,but still have a lot more bites left. Its scales were a mix of green,blue,and red.

"How did you catch that?" She asked, sneaking a piece that he had already cut and cooked.

He smirked, "Skills.." He said quietly.

Darkocean tilted her head, Nightbreak seemed a bit..sad.

"Is there something wrong,Nightbreak?" She asked. Nightbreak curled up in a ball and mumbled,"I'm gonna miss my dad..."

Darkocean sighed and patted his back.

Nightbreak scooted away,Darkocean looked away. She had dragged him to come with her, it was her fault Nightbreak would be miserable.

Horizon waddled to them. "Are we having Tunara?" She asked, tilting her head. Her icy blue eyes shone like diamonds.

"Yes.." Darkocean replied.

Horizon squeaked with excitement, before waddling off to the corner of the cave and sorting the gems she had found.

"I'm starting to think this journey was a bad idea..what if Gloomshade doesn't know where Nightbreak is?" She thought worriedly.

Nightbreak turned around and stared at Darkocean, "Everything will be fine,my father will know I came with you." He said as though he read her mind.

"A-are you sure? She asked, Nightbreak sighed," Yeah,I'm sure.." He promised, he rested his wing on Darkocean's back. He smiled at her His smile warmed Darkocean's heart.

Horizon saw them smirked, "Master Nighty has a girlfriend!" She cooed.

Nightbreak's face turned red,so did Darkocean's.

"Well..uhh..lets just..eat..then..continue flying to the Lightingwing Kingdom.." Nightbreak gulped,trying to cover his face.

Horizon smirked then went back to sorting her gems.

Darkocean smiled at Nightbreak, "I'm gonna take a nap, tell me when the Tunara is done.." She yawned.

Nightbreak nodded then went back to cooking.

Darkocean walked to her grass bed, the cave they were in was small and cramped,but they were able to fit. The ceiling and millions and millions of gems and different stones Darkocean had never seen before.

Darkocean sighed, setting her head on the ground. The stone was flat and smooth. Darkocean yawned,curled up in a ball, and covered her face with her wings.

Images of her father flashed in her mind,she shook her head. Darkocean sniffed,unable to sleep,she couldn't stop thinking about the journey ahead of her and how she wishes so dearly to be back home, how she wishes she could relax and laugh with Nightbreak, how she could watch Horizon be her silly self.

Darkocean felt a tear roll down her cheek. She sniffed again, Gloomshade had told her to take this quest, she didn't know why, but she felt like she had to do it.

Darkocean sniffed back another tear. She sighed," Okay,I really need sleep.. " she thought to herself.

Finally, after a couple minutes, she went to sleep. Hoping everything will be alright in the morning

Darkocean woke up to smell...smoke and of wasn't the smoke Nightbreak had when he was cooking. Darkocean felt burning heat, she opened her eyes.

There was a fire. Reddish orange flames burst with rage. The flames formed a wall around Darkocean, her eyes widened, not knowing how to get out. The flames looked like they were getting closer to Darkocean. "HORIZON!" She hollered. She heard a faint squeak.

"HORIZON! NIGHTBREAK!" She hollered again, She heard Horizon squeak, again.

Darkocean tried to run to Horizon without getting burned.

"Darkocean!" Horizon squeaked with fear,Darkocean saw her curled up in a ball in the corner, the flames barely touched her tail.

"Horizon! I'm coming!" Darkocean yelled, trying to get through the flames, "How the heck did this fire happen?!" Darkocean thought angrily.

Then it hit her,"Cavewings." They were near the Cavewing kingdom. Darkocean didnt realize until now. The cave was shaped like a house. This was how the Cavewings built their homes,Darkocean hisses with rage. The cavewings  must have seen them and tried to kill them.

"NIGHTBREAK!" Darkocean screamed, did the Cavewings take Nightbreak?

Darkocean managed to get to Horizon, she only had a few burns."Horizon! Hold on to me! Tight! " Darkocean yelled,Horizon flew to Darkocean and jumped on her back, Horizon clutched Darkocean's horns.

Darkocean could see the entrance of the cave. Darkocean lifted her wings,she would fly over the flames. She felt her wings touch the ceiling.

Darkocean lifted into the air,she wobbled a not because of Horizon's weight. The hard rocky ceiling scratched at Darkocean's wings and back. She winced. Horizon squeaked with pain as she was squished, "Sorry!" Darkocean apologized, "This will only hurt for a little bit! Until we get to the entrance!"

She slowly flew to the entrance, keeping to the ceiling.

She felt Horizon shiver with fear. "Horizon, to you know how this happened?!" Darkocean asked,she reached the entrance of the cave. The flew out the hole and landed, Horizon jumped off of Darkocean and onto the ground?

"There were big scary gray dragons! Their scales looked like rocks and..and...they blew flames and started fire!" She cried, "A-and they take  Master Nightbreak!" She added with tears.

Darkocean hissed, "Horizon, were going to get Nightbreak back."
