Jason Grace (Part 1)

(Y/N) POV:
"(YN)!" The praetor of the camp, Jason Grace calls your name. You turn around to find him not in his professional robes, but a normal Camp Jupiter shirt, "Reyna and I have to discuss some issues with you."
"Why?" You ask, worried you have done something wrong. You and Jason have never gotten along. Your personalities are almost too similar.
"Don't ask questions, wait until after we explain." Jason states in a harsh tone.
"No. I have the right to know what is going on before I enter the building." You state, standing your ground.
"(Y/N), it is something you wouldn't want to tell the whole camp."
Without talking, you walk past Jason towards the building. Whatever is it that Jason and Reyna want to talk about, it must be serious.

"(Y/N), sit." Reyna says to you once you enter. The room is decorated in photos of previous praetors, and dark colours. Reyna sits at the head of the table with her two dogs, Aurum and Argentum. You choose to sit a few seats away from Reyna. Jason chooses to take a seat on the right of you.
'Odd. Why wouldn't he sit beside Reyna.' You think to yourself.
"We just got information from the local police department in New York."
"What happened?" You asked, scared of what has occurred. Reyna glances at Jason for him to continue.
"(Y/N), your brother is dead." Jason states the news with a sincere tone. You don't respond, you look down to find your hands shaking. You can't do anything, nothing will bring your brother back.
You glance up to find Jason staring at you, without even hesitating, Jason grabs your hand and squeezes it.
"How did it happen?" You finally ask, your eyes meet with Jason's because you cannot bare to look at Reyna. She can't see you at your weakest moment.
"As you know he was on a quest, and was killed by a gorgon." Jason tells you.
"I need more information then that Jason."
"(Y/N), his partner left him after he was injured by the monsters. He left him to fend off four gorgons by himself, while injured." You hold your left hand up to your mouth to cover it from screaming. Your right hand is still held securely in Jason's.
"We will transport you to Camp Half-Blood for his burial." Reyna states before exiting the room.
You suddenly realize how little you got to see your brother before he died. With him being the son of Ares, and you being the daughter of Mars, it was difficult to see one another. Finally, a tear streams down your cheek, you quickly wipe it away hoping Jason didn't see it.
"(Y/N), I would be willing to come with you to Camp Half-Blood, so you know a familiar face."
"Jason, I feel like I shouldn't even go, I didn't see my brother for so long, I feel like I barely knew him."
"I understand, it is frustrating not being able to see your sibling for a long period of ti-"
"How do you know Jason? My brother and I didn't even attempt to communicate with one another, now he is gone!" You shout, you release your hand from Jason's grip as your temper rises.
"(Y/N), I am in the same position as you are. My sister is Greek, and I'm Roman. We haven't seen each other in several months. She is a hunter of Diana, which could mean she is at risk of dying everyday. I understand how frustrating it is being away from family."
"I didn't know." You say as your cheeks flush bright red.
"I will meet you in front of this building before we depart." Jason says, preparing to stand. Before you even think, you quickly grab Jason's hand before he leaves.
"Jason, I know it's a lot to ask but I don't know if I can be alone at the moment. I am just scared that I might explode." You say, not meeting his electric blue eyes.
"Sure, anything to help." He says with a smile. He pulls you up from your chair with his hands, "Let's go somewhere other than here."
