Chapter 7

My eyes fluttered open, only to be greeted with bright fluorescent lights.

"Sh*t," I cursed under my breath; sitting up and rubbing my eyes.

"Language young lady!" I screamed as a paper towel roll connected with the back of my head.

Wait...

Where am i?

Did I get kidnapped?

Holy f*ck!

I turn around quickly on the.... table? and met eyes with my kidnapper.

An old Chinese women stood there wrapped in a purple cheongsam. There where small white flowers printed on the silky fabric. Her black hair was pulled into a tight bun on the top of her head. She wore round rimmed glasses that matched her dress.

Why would an old Chinese woman kidnap me?

"Umm" I started slipping off the table and onto the floor. "Why did you kidnap me?" A sharp pain shot through my stomach as my feet met the black tiled floor. I winced- clutching my stomach in agony.

"I did no kidnap you," the Chinese woman explained. Her eyes filled with fear as I struggled to stay standing. She rested her fragile bony hand on the small of my back, and helped me back into the table. "I found you on ground outside restaurant." She pointed toward the door with her e.t like finger.

"What's your name?" My voice cracked from the pain.

"Li Na." She smiled, revealing her slightly yellowed teeth. Her Chinese accent was strong, but it was comforting.

"Wang Lei! get in here!" She shouted, her eyes drifting behind me.

"Coming Ma Ma!" I heard a deep voice growl from where Li Na is looking.

A tall boy paused in front of me. he had black hair that fell over his eyes. He was a scrawny thing, but it fit him well. He had a white scar in his left cheek; that I obviously wasn't going to question.

"Oh so she's awake." the boy extended his hand to me. "I'm Wang Lei, but please call me Lei." I smiled at Lei and gave him my hand to shake. "Blake." Lei smiled back.

"Yes," Li Na began "this is my son." she stood on her tip toes and squeezed Lei's shoulders; kissing him on the cheek. "Ma Ma..." his face burned red with embarrassment, I chuckled which ended up into a coughing fit.

"Shuǐ!" Li Na yelled to Lei, he ran out of the room. My coughing slowed down a bit but was still there.

When Lei can back, he handed me a glass of water. "Drink." he handed me the glass and bowed.

Bowed.

He bowed.

I guess that's a Chinese tradition but it still made me want to laugh. But I held it in my throat so that I wouldn't have a coughing attack again. I sipped the water, looking around the room through the bottom of the glass. I was assuming this was a break room based on the vending machine and multiple bulletin boards. I finished the glass and sat it down next to me. Li Na gave me a smile and patted my back. "You need ride home?"

I shook my head and smiled back. "I'll be fine." I nodded my head to emphasize my point. She and Lei nodded in return.

Then I remembered Austin.

He's picking me up at 7.

And if Ryder's already at my house...

Gulp.

"What time is it?" I slowly slipped of the table, not wanting a repeat of earlier.

Li Na rubbed her lips and looked at Lei. He pulled out a flip phone from his pocket.
