(Luna P.O.V.)
Butterflies were roaming around my stomach, but I kept running until I came to a small shack. Stepping forward, I slowly pushed open the door and glanced over my shoulder. Making my decision, I stepped onto the squeaky floor board and shut the door behind me.
My pink lace shoes danced across the shiny floor. My curly hair bounced all around and my giggles escaped into the air. The windows were open and I saw flowers in a small pot on the window sill. The warm breeze was coming in through the open door, revealing green grass and cherry red flowers. I stepped outside and looked up. A man stood at a small grill with a white apron on. He turned at the sound of my footsteps and I saw him smile down at me.
"Hello cutie."
I smiled and ran towards him.
"Hi Daddy."
He lifted me and I sat on his shoulders. I grasp for the leaves above and clapped my hands when I felt on loosen from the branch. I fell from his shoulders and into anothers arms. Looking up I was greeted with black hair with one solid red streak down the side.
"Hello Sammy."
I fell back and hit my back on a shattered table. My mind was going at lightspeed, my migraine worsening.
Bloody Mary....and Bigby?
I shook my head. There is no way that Bigby and Bloody Mary were my parents.
I walked up to the house, this time, looking to be about seven years old. The air smelled strongly of alcohol and as I reached out for the rusting door handle, angry voices cut through the air.
"Bigby! Calm Down!"
"Where is she Mary?!"
I heard furniture moving and glass shattering.
"I told you, she's out in the woods playing!"
The door flung open and I reeled back, slamming my skull into the ground. Tears began to fall and I looked up to see Bigby bending down, his eyes yellow, but quickly fading to brown.
"D-daddy?"
"Hey Sam. Are you ok? I'm sorry."
He didn't sound very sorry, but I nodded and held onto him. Looking behind him I saw the place in tatters and Mommy holding her arms.
"Is Mommy ok?"
I heard him growl.
"Yeah. She's fine. Listen, Sammy."
He cleared his throat and I turned to look at him.
"You're going to be staying with me for a while. Mommy needs some time alone. So, you're going to be staying in the city, with me."
"B-but-"
"No, no buts. Mommy has some problems she needs to fix."
Little did he know I would jump out the window of the building and run away in the dead of night. I had made up my mind. I hated my father and always would.
I realized I was breathing heavily and the rain had started to pour once more. I looked to the doorway and could imagine myself, as a small girl, listening as Mom and Dad fought. I traced my footprints in the unsettled dust as I made my way upstairs. The sinks were rusted and the floorboards creaked under my weight. I was lost in thought as the front door was flung clean off its hinges.
"Sam!"
Bigby's voice echoed around me. I sunk into the shadows as he came racing up the stairs, swiveling his head.
"S-Sammy! Please come out!"
He turned and I felt tears race down my face. I walked toward him and leaned on him. He turned and I saw his expression soften.
"S-sam?" His voice was barely a whisper.
"D-dad? I looked up and him and saw a tear run down his face. My tears wasted no time in mimicking his actions.
"I'm sorry." My voice cracked. He wrapped his arms around me and I buried my head in his shoulder.
"You have nothing to be sorry for Sammy."
He held me out at arm's length and smiled.
"My little girl. I thought I lost you."
"I'm so glad you didn't." I smiled at him.
"So am I."
Footsteps rang out from beside us and I looked to see Paris flying up the stairs.
"L-Luna!"
She stepped up to us and sent a suspicious look to Bigby.
"It's alright Paris." I told her. "He's family."
For the first time, it seemed, in a while she smiled and I pulled her close. Bigby led us back through the forest and to the city.
