What do these words mean?

Do they mean, I think your hair smells nice or you make me laugh.

Why do these three words carry so much weight?

I like you is almost as heavy as I love you.

What is the correct response to this statement?

Is it I like you too?

But what if they don't.

Then, what are they supposed to say?

No thanks,

Sorry no,

Do you have the wrong person,

I don't feel the same way.

These possibilities and questions terrify me.

Is it worth it to express your feelings

Or to keep them to yourself for two years?

I still haven't figured it out

But I'm hoping I will.

One day I will say I like you and you will say

I like you too.
