Chapter 2- The News

Owen and Derek took off running down the hallway seeing that it was a massive trauma coming in. They nearly knocked Meredith and Christina over trying to make it to the E.R. bay. Christina yelled, "What do we got" when she saw Bailey standing at the doors. Bailey replied, "Massive explosion at an apartment building in downtown Seattle." While the doctors awaited the ambulances they turned the tv on. "Oh my gosh" Meredith said. "Yeah" Christina said. Finally, they heard the sirens and the ambulances pulled up. Christina asked the paramedic, "What do we got" he replied, "Richard Castle. 32 massive burns to the chest and arms."Alright, let's get him to the O.R. Get me Mark Sloan and have him meet me in O.R. 1 STAT!" Christina yelled. Meredith was on her way to O.R. 2 with a Jane Doe. She had severe burns and multiple contusions on her head, unconscious. Meredith yelled for Derek for C.T. scans. As the rest of the hospital watched the news for updates, they had found out that author Richard Castle was having an engagement party for him and fiancé Kate Beckett. The condition of everyone at the party is unknown, but things are not looking hopeful. Meredith was working on Katherine and she started hemmoraging. Derek set to work trying to control the clot and fix everything. Back in O.R. 1 Christina had Richards chest open trying to fix the damaged wall of the heart. He started coding and Christina hollered, "Get me a crash cart! Charge to 200. Clear. Dammit! Charge to 300! Clear. Alright we got a rhythm." In O.R. 2 Meredith was working on Katherine, when Derek walked in with her head C.T. "She has a brain bleed. I need to get in there now." Derek said to Meredith. "Okay, Derek" Meredith sweetly said. When Christina was out of surgery and Richard was sent to the I.C.U. she went to check on Meredith to see if her surgery was over. Meredith wasn't in the O.R. but Derek was. "Where's Meredith?" "She left after she was done here" Derek replied calmly. Christian ran out of the O.R. in search of Meredith. She found her coming out of the bathroom. "Mer what did you need to tell me?" "Christina I'm... Pregnant."
