The Rogue Games

Part 1 - The Games Chapter 2

My heart stops. Katniss Erso. My sister.

My eyes circle the area. I see her slowly making a few steps in front. Stormtroopers push her from the back. I make myself a corridor through the other girls with my elbows and run to her. I touch her shoulder and the troopers turn around and catch me by my arms. "Leave me! Leave- ugh!" I say as I free my arms and stand in front of them. "I voluntier as tribute!" I say and look at Katniss.

"No, Jyn, no, please-" two other troopers take her away from me and the others push me to the scene. My eyes get watery I see her being pulled away from me. "Jyn!" She yells again. I got onto the scene and I paralize when I see the whole city. I can't. I can't. I can't.

"What's your name, sweetheart?" Mara says and slowly takes my hand and puts me in front of the micro.

"I- I'm Jyn Erso." I say. My voice craks and my palms are sweating.

"Oh, that one must have been your sister." She says. I find Katniss in the crowd and look in her eyes.

"Yes."

"Okay, everybody, let's congratulate our female tribute!" She says and no one makes a sound. Katniss slowly presses her three fingers that are in the middle of her hand to her lips and puts her arm up. A sign of admiration in the whole galaxy. Slowly, everybody does the same and I look shocked around the square. My heart pumps so hard, almost breaking my chest.

"Okay." Mara says a little annoyed. "And the males now." She walks to the other side of the scene and gets out a ticket from the other bowl. "Pao Drabatan." She says as a boy smaller than me comes on the stage. He's Katniss's age. "And here are our tributes for the 14th edition of The Force Games! Jyn Erso and Pao Drabatan!" She says takes us by our hands inside the hall and I wait in a room for visitors. Katniss comes a few seconds after I was placed inside and hugs me tightly. We both start crying we fall on our knees. She pulls back for a few seconds and takes our mother's kyber necklace and puts it around my neck. Her hand rests a bit on my cheek and her lips slowly move, no words coming from them. "I know, I know." I wisper and hug her again. Tears fall on my cheeks like a river and hers too. "Survive." I say to her. She nods in my neck and I put my hand on her head. A trooper comes in and takes her from my arms. "JYN!" She yells. "KATNISS!" I yell after her and she is pulled out of the room. "GOOD LUCK!" She yells again and the door closes. I fall on my knees, my head down and tears rolling on my cheeks.

No one comes to visit me after that. My heart aches and I feel broken. I'm going to loose my whole family. Soon, a trooper takes me by my back and takes me to the ship that will go to Coruscant. Pao walks behind me and we both sit down at one of the tables. Saw comes to us and sits down, opposite of me. I can smell the aroma of wine coming from him. He looks a few seconds at me, then avoids my gaze. Pao does the same. Mara slowly comes in there and sits down. "Oh, how preety you both are. Let me bring you some food. You must be hungry after this starting of day." She says and goes to another room.

"It was very brave what you did for your sister there." Pao says and I feel the ship as it slowly taking off.

"Thank you." I say quietly. Saw still didn't look at me again. A guy puts us on the table a fork and a knife for all of us. He leaves. Saw looks at his hands. I take the knife and walk to him, putting the knife with force in the table. "SAY SOMETHING!" I yell at him and Mara comes in. "That's Endor wood!" Shs says, but I ignor her. "Say something." I say to him and he slowly raises his head to me.

"You can win." He says. "You are trained."

"I was just a child!" I yell at him. Mara slowly comes and takes me by my shoulders and puts me back on the chair. I clench my fists and try to calm down. "Where is my father?" I say, slowly. Saw looks at me raises him hand. "One more word and-" "And what?!? You don't know what I've been through. How I raised Katniss. How I got over that moment. How I survived. You don't know a thing about me." I say and raise up. "I'm not hungry anymore." I say and go down the hall. "Your room is the first on the right." Mara says and I slam the door behind me.

I was still looking on the walls in my room when Saw entered it. "It's dinner." He says. I ignor him. I hear him sight and he sits on the bed near me, in my right. "Jyn, I'm sorry I let you alone. I couldn't risk them finding out you two where with me. Every winner of the games is followed by the Empire. If they would also take you, I would have killed myself. They had your faces in their data files. I'm sorry Jyn." He says and my eyes get watery. I put my head on his shoulder and he puts his hand on the left side of my head. The tears fall on my cheeks again my left hand holds his black shirt tightly. "I forgive you." I say quietly.
