Chapter Five

5:30 am

Stephanie Vincent Santiago

I was sleeping and I was being awaken. I opened my eyes and Kate was waking me up. I didn't know what she wanted, but I needed sleep. Class wasn't going to start until 3 hours. Kate kept calling my name and so I had to wake up this time because she was actually becoming annoying. 

"What is it Kate? I'm trying to get some sleep." I said.

"It's Chyna." Kate said.

"What about her?" I questioned. 

"I haven't seen her since yesterday." Kate said.

"Maybe you'll see here in class." I said.

"Stephanie, it's Saturday." Kate said.

I automatically opened my eyes, "Oh shit!"

"Yea and I need you to go across the hall to her dorm and ask her roommate if he seen her since yesterday." Kate said.

"Fine." I said getting out the bed.

I put on a hoodie and some shorts and went across the hall. I knocked on the door and there was no answer. I continued to knock not giving up because Chyna is my friend and i needed to know. My second knock didn't work so well so, I had to see if the door was unlocked and sadly when I checked it, it was locked.

I knocked on the door again and this time he opened it. But when I looked up at him, he looked so familiar and I couldn't believe that Kasey was Chyna's roommate. The Kasey who I used to date, oh shit I'm in trouble.

"Stephanie?" Kasey said.

"Yea." I said.

"Holy shit! I didn't know you were here." Kasey said.

"Well I'm here. But I'm not here to rekindle, I need to know if you've seen Chyna anywhere." I said.

"Not since yesterday morning why?" Kasey said.

"Shit. Ok thanks."  I said.

"Wait, what's the problem?" Kasey asked.

"It's none of your concern." I said.

"Actually it is. She is my friend too and I need to know if she's ok." Kasey said.

"Chyna hasn't come back last night and we don't know where she is." I said.

"Have you tried calling her?" Kasey asked.

"Yea, but it says that she's out of call range." I said.

"Oh shit! I know exactly where she is." Kasey said

"Really?" I questioned.

"Yea, get your friend and meet me outside." Kasey said.

"Ok." I said.

Kasey closed the door and I went back to Kate. I told what Kasey said and knew. Kate was relieved and we went outside to meet up with Kasey. But he wasn't there, this motherfucker ditched us. Kate looked at me and I was confused just as much as she was. Why did he do this?

Chyna Korea Santiago Jones

I didn't know how many hours or days that I've spent in the forest, but I really didn't care. I just wanted to be alone and not be bothered by anyone. I looked up at the sky and saw that the sky was pink and orange. I guess it was becoming a new day. Just then, I heard footsteps approaching and I turned around. It was Kasey, I let out a sigh.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Your friends told me that you were missing and that you were out of call range." Kasey said.

"So.'' I said.

"Chyna, you been gone the entire night and we were worried about you.'' Kasey said.

"No, you were worried about the idea of me" I said.

"Why are you thinking that way?" Kasey asked.

"Because it's true. Nobody cares about me, all everybody does is take advantage of my kindness and all they do is ruin me and think it's ok." I said.

"Is this about your ex?" Kasey asked.

"It's about everything. I'm sorry Kasey, but I can't be with you right now." I said tearing up.

"No, I understand. You got a lot of things on your mind and you want to be able to get through them." Kasey said.

"Thanks for understanding." I said.

"Your welcome. Now let's get you back home." Kasey said.

I wiped my tears away. I got off the rock and Kasey and I walked to his motorcycle parked outside of the forest. I climbed on and we both took off. I was tired and I needed rest anyways. 

Minutes later, we arrived at the campus and I was greeted by Kate and Stephanie. They both seemed happy to see me and I was too. But I was very exhausted and I needed to get some rest. 

The Next Day..............

Stephanie Vincent Santiago

I was at the campus cafe eating lunch. I was worried that Chyna would find out soon that I know Kasey. Or even worst that he was my recent ex-boyfriend. I didn't know that he actually went to USC after what happened between us. I don't know what I should do.
