CHAPTER 2: Moments from the past…
Youngbae went inside the conference room calling his mom. But he didn’t find his mom inside. Instead, it was,
Youngbae: “Chun Gyeol,”
Chun Gyeol turned around and faced him.
They sat to start the conversation and Chun Gyeol went straight to business.
Chun Gyeol: “I hope I didn’t disturb you or something… Dong Youngbae, … I… I’m filing for divorce.”
Youngbae: “Divorce?” (thought of the guy he saw her with when they saw each other on a coffee shop) “Divorce.”
Chun Gyeol: “I went to the Family Court just now and I got to talk to a representative and he said it would be easy for us since…”
Youngbae: (cuts her) “What do I need to do?” (gets the envelope and looked at the papers) “Do I just need to sign these?”
Chun Gyeol: “We need to fill up the application form, make a signed agreement, and present the other documents together.”
Youngbae: “Meaning, we have to present these documents together in court personally?”
Chun Gyeol: “That’s what they told me.”
Youngbae: “Can I make the arrangements so things would not leak to the media?”
Chun Gyeol: “Yes. Sure.”
Youngbae sighed when he realizes Chun Gyeol has been speaking to him formally.
Chun Gyeol: “Regarding this agreement, I already signed here stating that I am not asking any property from you. I’m not asking for compensation too. That I’m,”
Youngbae: “But the apartment’s conjugal.”
Chun Gyeol: “But you bought that.”
Youngbae: “Fine.”
Chun Gyeol: (gets a card from her bag) “Here’s my number. Call me if the arrangements are done.” (stood up and gets ready to leave) “I will leave now.”
Youngbae just sat there while she walks out of the conference room. Now, the divorce papers in his hands, the day he knew would come but still made him shocked.
…
School.
Chun Gyeol silently entered the classroom. Most students noticed her and returned to their seats. But there’s a group of girls who didn’t even noticed her. She approached them and checked why they’re busy.
Turn out, the girls are watching a video from a phone.
Girl 1: “Whoa! They look so good.”
Girl 2: “This is why my unni loves Bigbang.”
Girl 3: “I like Taeyang, TOP and Daesung.”
Girl 4: “I like all of them.”
Chun Gyeol: “Is that Bigbang?” (The girls still have their backs on her)
Girl 3: “Tsk. You don’t know them? LOL.”
Chun Gyeol: “I do. In fact, I know Taeyang personally.”
Girl 1: “For real? How?”
Chun Gyeol: “He’s my husband.”
Girl 2: “Ye. He’s my husband too.”
Chun Gyeol: “Really? Shall I call you Mrs. Dong?”
Girl 2: “Ye.”
Chun Gyeol: “Then good morning, Mrs. Dong. I’m Ms. Kho, your teacher in English.”
