Chapter 6: Almost but not quite

CHAPTER 6: Almost but not quite.

" Thought I found my one true love

Couldn't show you how I feel

I was stupid baby my pride wouldn't let me be real."

After using much of his gasoline, he decided to turn his car back. He drove fast till he reached their apartment. He tried to opened the door but it’s locked from inside. So he pushed the doorbell button again and again till Chun Gyeol opened the door.

Chun Gyeol: “Wae?”

He went in and pushed her off the wall. His hands on her cheeks. His forehead to hers. Then he kissed her. A kiss that would make a girl feel he wants her bad.

Chun Gyeol controlled herself and pushed him away. That made him came back to his senses.

Youngbae: “Sorry. I just… I can’t control myself anymore. I’m sorry.” (takes that step to leave but…)

Chun Gyeol: (held on to his jacket) “Youngbae,”

He turned and kissed her again.

This time, he has her returning his kisses. He pulled her off the table. He lay her down. He took off his jacket and carried her to her room. They lay down on the bed. Him on top of her.

Youngbae: “Are you sure about this?” (he asks while he kiss her all over)

Chun Gyeol: “No. But,” (she kissed him)

He took off his shirt before taking off her shirt. He threw away her bra, his pants, her shorts and her undies.

Youngbae gave his last thrust, pulled back and lay down beside Chun Gyeol. He sighed  and closed his eyes. She covered herself with the blanket and turned her back on him. When he recharged himself with energy, he stood up, took all his scattered clothes on the floor, dress up and left the room.

…

Next morning.

Youngbae is inside the bathroom. He can’t stop thinking about what happened last night while he showers. He also recalls what the marriage counselor told him.

Marriage Counselor: “Control yourself. You don’t know if she’s feeling the opposite. If you take action, things will probably break the friendship you built.”

And that’s what he didn’t do last night, control himself. In the end, he let his feelings win; he kissed and slept with Chun Gyeol.

He found her preparing breakfast at the kitchen when he came out from his room, now all covered up.

Chun Gyeol: “You’re just in time. Breakfast is ready.”

Chun Gyeol acted like nothing happened. She sat and prepared herself to eat. He sat down and they ate together.

Youngbae: “Chun Gyeol,” (sighs before cracking the second line) “What happened last night,”

Chun Gyeol: “I understand. … It’s… It’s a mistake. We shouldn’t have done it.” (says without looking at him)

Youngbae: “The marriage counselor must not know about this. It could affect the divorce.”

Chun Gyeol: “Ye.” (stands and gets ready to leave) “I’m going.”

Youngbae: “Ye.”

Chun Gyeol walks her way going to the bus stop. She walks slowly. She keeps remembering the things that happened last night. She shakes her head to shrug it off. She sat down and waited for the bus. A bus stopped in front of her but she remained sitting there. Till she decided to ride the next bus. But she didn’t go to the school yet. She dropped by the marriage counselor’s office.
