BCL 2018 Finals :
History was getting repeated as Chandigarh Cubs faced Delhi Dragons in BCL finals. The crowd was really excited as their two favourite teams were competing against each other.
Barkha calls up team huddle for one last time in this season of BCL.
Barkha : Guys, this is it. It is a make or break situation. Everyone give your best and let's be the proud owner of BCL trophy this season. All the best.
Everyone comes together for a team hug and then moves to the ground.
Delhi Dragons had won the toss and decides to bat. The bowlers were having a hard time controlling the run rate but finally manage to pick wickets in regular intervals.
As the match progressed, it was time for the challenge over. Karan challenges the team for 15 runs with Shantanu as the bowler.
The challenge over begins and Shantanu manage to deliver two dot ball but 3rd and 4th one goes for a six and four. Shantanu was feeling nervous as there were two more balls left and they just needed 5 runs to win the challenge. His nervousness was changing into frustration and anger as the opposite team's batsman start to irritate him.
Vrushika was watching Shantanu from the other side and understood from his expression that he was losing his temper. She decides to intervene before things go out of hand. She quickly runs to him, holds his hands and look into his eyes.
Vrushika : Shan, relax. Don't get provoked by their gestures. Stay calm and focus on your bowling. You can do it.
Shantanu looks at her and feels relaxed on seeing her smile.
Vrushika quickly gives him a hug and whispers in his ears to just remain calm.
Shantanu resumes his over and he manage to get a wicket with his next delivery. The last ball of that over was a dot ball resulting in batting team losing the challenge. Entire team comes near Shantanu to congratulate him on a good over.
Additi : Wow, hugs can do wonders. What do you think Shantanu?
Everyone in the team laughs while Shantanu and Vrushika look down embarrassed.
Barkha : Must make hugs mandatory in all our matches.
Everyone : Agreed.
Soon it was time for Chandigarh Cubs batting and Shantanu and Rohan are send out to open the match. They formed a good opening partnership initially but it was broken when they lost Rohan's wicket. Vrushika was send out to bat next. She comes on the ground nervously as this was a crucial match and she didn't want to make any mistakes.
Shantanu : Ready
Vrushika : Hmm
Shantanu : Relax. Everything will be fine. We can do it. Just play your instinct.
Vrushika nods her head.
Vrushika and Shantanu play a great innings and manage to lead their team to victory.
Chandigarh Cubs is declared the winners of BCL 2018 while Shantanu bags the title of man of the series.
BCL success party is held the next evening and all the teams attend the party to mark the successful completion of one more season of BCL.
Shantanu and Vrushika come together for the party and they are held up by many media personal for interviews and photo shoots. Finally, they manage to enter the venue and meet their team.
Vrushika was busy enjoying the party with her brother Rohit and his wife Anita but Shantanu was missing from the party and Vrushika was searching for him while chatting with her brother. Suddenly, she felt his presence nearby. She turns around to find him standing behind her.
Vrushika : Where were you? I have been looking for you for such a long time.
Shantanu : I just went out to attend a call.
Vrushika : Okay.
Shantanu : Rohit Bhai, we have to leave now because one of our friend is leaving for US tomorrow and there is a farewell party kept for him.
Vrushika looks at him confused but does not say anything.
Rohit : Okay. See you later guys.
VruShan : Bye.
Shantanu and Vrushika quickly exit the party avoiding all the media and press.
In the parking lot :
Vrushika : Ok, Mr.Maheshwari. What is going on? Why did you lie inside?
Shantanu : I am in love.
Vrushika : WHAT?
Shantanu : I am in love Vrushika. She is the most amazing person I have ever met. She is cute, sensible, caring and most importantly a great human being. I am so happy to have found her in my life.
Vrushika turns around as she could no longer able to hold back her tears.
Shantanu : Vrushy , are you listening to me? I am in love.
Vrushika quickly wipes her tears and turn to look at him.
Vrushika : Yes , I heard you. Congratulations. I am so happy for you.
Shantanu hugs her and says thank you.
Vrushika : So when do I get to meet this wonderful person who managed to capture the heart of one of the most eligible bachelor of India.
Shantanu : Today
Vrushika : Today?
Shantanu : I have asked her to meet me at Kashid beach today.
Vrushika : But that's so far.
Shantanu : I know. But she is already there with her friends. I want you to be the first person to meet her because you are my closest friend and the best person to meet the person closest to my heart.
Vrushika's heart break into pieces on hearing this but she holds herself before him with a smile on her face.
Vrushika : Let me inform my mom that I will be staying back at my friend's place and then we can leave.
Shantanu : Okay
After Vrushika informs her mom, they leave for the beach in Shantanu's car.
Vrushika POV :
I am happy for you Shan. You finally found your soulmate. The only thing I wish to see is that smile on your face and I hope this girl will always be the reason for your smile.
Shantanu POV :
I am so happy. I am finally going to meet the love of my life and the best part is that I have my best friend to support me.
