"So Thunder Road tomorrow?" I asked Kenickie as we laid on the hood of my car. As promised, Kenickie did show up today and we've spent the entire day together, doing absolutely nothing but talking.

"Yeah, you coming?" He asked, sitting up on his elbow. "I wouldn't miss it." I smile and he sighed, "it's late. I need to be getting home." He frowned and I nodded, "I'll see you tomorrow? I'll pick you up?"

He kissed me before getting in, "last day I'm hitching a ride with you." He winked and I chuckle, driving away from 'our spot' at the lookout.

I sat in the passenger seat as Greased Lightning drove out of the garage. Kenickie had an arm around me with Mrs. Murdoch in the back seat. "Well, the crate shaped up." She smiled, "And it's as hot as the parts on it." She added. I chuckled a little, "I'm sure they didn't steal all of it." I shrugged, smiling at Kenickie, who was already smiling at me.

"James is right, some of it was donated." Sonny smiled, proudly. "Just wait till Thunder Road." Kenickie said, squeezing me tighter. I kiss his cheek as I hear Doody bring up something about changing his mind. I knew Kenickie was going through with this, I had no idea, however, why Doody was so worried about it.

"The flag is in three hours." Mrs. Murdoch said, checking her watch. "And Greased Lightning strikes." Kenickie smirks, lightly hitting Danny's stomach. "You coming?" I ask, looking back at her. "You and my boys won't let me down, and I won't let you down." She said, getting out. Kenickie got out and held the door open for me, helping me out.

"I wanna talk to you." Danny said, walking away from the car. Kenickie walks forward, pulling me with him. I giggle at the awkward angle he holds me under his arm, as he drags me along. "Those guys at Thunder Road don't fool around, you know." Danny said, coolly. I smirk at him, he was trying so hard not to look "uncool" by voicing his concerns. Kenickie removes his arm from my neck to throw his cigarette out, "what, you want me to punk out?" He asked, seriously. "No, I'm not saying punking out, I'm just.. You know what I mean." He shrugged. I feel my moth drop a little, what was with boys and showing their emotions? Kenickie looks down, kicking his leg and biting at his thumb nail, "Hey, Danny, erm.. We been friends a long time, right?" He mumbled and I inwardly groan. Danny shrugged, "Yeah."

"You remember the drive-in the other night? The movie with the duel, the guy's best friend went with him, as his lieutenant, like a second?" He asked, sort of rambling in a nervous way. Danny nodded, "Yeah. So?" Kenickie flipped the collar of his jacket up, holding it there, "Well, I thought that.. you could maybe be my second at Thunder Road." He said, closing his eyes. I stare at the scene in front of me, completely holding in every bit of laughter that wanted to burst at this moment. "What, you want me to drive with you or what?" Danny asked, and I rolled my eyes. "No, um.." Kenickie said, but when he looked up, Danny knew what he meant, because he started laughing, causing Kenickie to laugh and hit Danny's stomach. They exchanged a few hits and some laughter before Kenickie threw his arms around Danny. They pulled away, clearing their throats and combing their hair. "Listen, I'll pick you up at three, alright?"

I stare at them, "men.." I say and Kenickie turned to me, grabbing me in a headlock, rubbing his knuckles on my head. "Kenickie. Stop!" I yell, laughing. He lets me go and smirks at me before turning to everyone else, "Open up the door. What are you sitting around for?" Kenickie asked, as they open the door. He lets me in and drives off to park beside my car.

"I'm gonna check under the hood one more time, then we can head to your place until we gotta go?" He asked and I nodded as he helped me out.

We checked some thing and he wiped the grease on his finger on my forehead. I glare at him, "I don't like you." I mumbled, looking in my mirror. "No, you're right. You love me." He holds me from behind, kissing my neck, causing me to giggle, "stop, that tickles."
