The Last Of Her Kind

chapter 2

I awoke to someone or something scooping me up out of the car. I shot my eyes open to see a blond headed boy with blue-ish grey eyes. I immediately shot out of his arms to go hide behind my supposed Uncle. With all the actions that happened yesterday still fresh in my mind,  I dont think I can trust anyone yet.

"Melissa thats just Hunter, he's not gonna hurt you." My Uncle told me calmly while pulling me out from behind him.

"Come here short stuff. I'm not gonna hurt you." Hunter said while reaching his hand out waiting for me to take it.  

I hesitated at first, but ended up getting shoved into hunters arms by none other than my supposed uncle. I crashed into a hard chest, and stumbled backwards while holding my nose I swiped my finger under my nose to make sure that it wasn't bleeding and thank god it wasn't. I looked up to see Hunter smirking at me.

"What are you smiling at?" I asked.

" Oh nothing. Come on lets go get you settled in." Hunter said while draping his arm around my shoulder.

" So what is this place?" I asked while looking up at hunter while walking into this huge door.

" Its...uhh ermm your Uncles house. Yeah. He shelters all of us. Theres me, Shay, Drew and Derek. Shay here will show you to your room" He said while pointing to this blond headed girl with blue eyes, and a great looking body. Oh how I envy her.

" Hi i'm Shay!" She said a little too enthusiastic. She looks like this absolute badass, but I can already tell that there more to her than we know.

" Hi...i'm Melissa" I said very confused while scratching the back of my neck.

We headed off towards a room I guess will be mine.

" Can I talk to my Uncle now. I'm still really confused?" I asked her with hopeful eyes.

" Um sure I guess just stay here let me go tell him you wanted to speak to him." she said while exiting my room. A few minutes later she came back with a smile across her face. She came up to me and reached out to grab my hand. I quickly retracted my hand. I still didn't know these people so why should I trust them. She slowly pulled her hand back to her side.

" He said he is waiting for you in his office. Let me take you there." She said in a calm quiet voice. I didn't really wanna speak so I simply just nodded.

She led me into what I was guessing was my "Uncles" office. She knocked and I heard a hushed voice say 'come in'. when we walked in I was thrown back to see how modern this room looked. Because everywhere else in the house looked so abstract and more techy.

" So I heard you wanted to talk?" Mathew said.

" Yeah I wanna know why I was brought here, Because I know you're not my real Uncle. My parents died a long time ago and I was told that I had no family left. So I was put up for adoption later on." I told him with a stern look on my face.

"Ahh yes well I am your real uncle. Your parents did die a long time ago yes. But that was only because our pack was viciously attacked by rogues." He stated

" So who were my parents?" I asked with anger laced in my tone. While I sat back in my chair with my arms crossed over my chest.

" Have you ever heard of the Starlight Warrior Pack?" he asked

" Yes but only in stories. Why?" I had no idea where he was going with this.

" Well your parents were the alpha's of that pack" I was about to protest when he held out his hand and stopped me. " Your parents were feared and the most respected pack out there at the time. at the time no one knew they had a child except me and your mother's sister. Well and your older brother, but we will get to that later. When our pack was attacked no one saw it coming. We fought ruthlessly until they started getting the upper hand. Our whole pack died the day after except me you, your brother and those kids out there. I ended up putting you up for adoption. it was really hard to do, but I had to to it was your mother and father's wishes. They said that the Moon Goddess told them that all this would happen and it was your destiny to have lived the life you lived now." He stopped to let me take it all in.
