Chapter 23

Melissa's P.O.V

Waking up was something I always hated, But not today. No. Today I woke up early the sun was just peaking through the Horizon. I sat there on my bed looking out the window just preparing myself for today. Five minutes passed, I stood up and walked to my closet and put on my Training clothes. With-in five minutes I was ready and outside starting up Shawn's Jeep.

Flash Back

We were all sitting in the Backyard of our house just chilling. Shay laying out in the Sun trying to get a tan on her already perfectly tanned body. Derek and Drew playing catch, it was always their favorite when we had a day to just relax. Me and Hunter were playing a Game of Rummy, its a fun game. Especially when Hunter is a Sore loser because his little sister came out of nowhere and beat his high score.

"What are you guys up to?" Uncle Matthew asked as he walked out back with a pair of cargo shorts on and a regular black short sleeved top. For once he wasnt in his normal formal get up. It was nice. Refreshing.

"Just Hanging out." Hunter said while staring intently at the cards in his hands.

"Come on Uncle M, Ill deal you in." I said as I reached for the deck and gave him seven cards.

You see when we play rummy the leaders were Me at the top then Hunter, Uncle M, Shay, Drew, Derek. Derek didnt like playing cards that much but he did love sitting around and just having fun, getting a good laugh out of it. Who wouldn't though?

looking at the cards I have in my hand I knew I was going to go out and have one very mad wolf boy and an amused uncle. I lay down a book of aces, I had all four in my hand somehow. Then I lay down a run of 5 through the queen of Spades, finally laying down my last card in the discard pile.

Hearing groans of protest and a few snickers coming from around me only make me smile wider while I look down counting up my points. 170. Not a bad number but I could've done better.

"hunter how much did you get?" I asked, he was mumbling under his breath 'stupid little sister.....stupid game....why'. I didn't catch it all, but what I did, made me laugh.

"huh? didnt quite catch you?" I smirked.

"tiny." He mumbled.

"huh?"

"twenty!" I almost started to laugh but I know he would be brooding all day, so I held it in.

"Aww don't be upset Hunter, your still better than me in 'Go Fish'." I said in a baby voice.

Scowling. thats all I got from hunter for the next five minutes. "ohh come on Hunter, dont be upset." I said giving him the puppy dog look. He looked up and scowled even harder.

"ugh you know I cant say no to that damned face." He mumbled but I Could see the corners of his mouth twitch up.

Looking around, im happyy. For once in my life im truly happy, I just couldn't keep the goofy smile off my face. I seriously love all of these guys to death! I really don't want to picture my life with out them, if they weren't here I would still be living in my own personal hell. These five people have been there for me for the last three years, through my ups and downs, through the times were I was on the brink of losing it. Sometimes on the brink of giving everything up.

With out them I would be nothing.

Snapping out of the trance I was in, I looked up through the windshield to see the Darkmoon pack house.

Now that I think about it, THEY"RE the reason my Uncle is dead. THEY'RE the reason im so torn up inside. THEY'RE the reason for my life being so goddamn screwed up!

Getting out of the car and slamming the door shut I walked up the porch steps and let myself in. With a stride of determination I made my way up towards the sleeping wing of the house to wake up everyone.

Standing at the end of the hall, looking down on all the doors housing the teens and elders.

Taking a deep breath i started to scream, first it was just a shriek but then it evolved into an ear piercing scream. My wolf was cringing in the back of my mind. I could faintly hear the body of the pack hit the floor, stunned by the scream!

"lets give them a sight to see!" I said to my wolf. Letting my wolf come to the front I could feel my hair turning white. I could feel my pupils growing bigger until they covered my eyes in complete darkness. I could feel my hair start to flail madly around my head.

The first one out of their room is Mr.Macho himself. Josh.

He was looking all around for the problem, but when his eyes settled on mine he was confused but still absolutely furious.

"What the hell are you doing Melissa?!" He shouted

"What I should've done a long time ago." My Wolf spoke.

Walking up to Josh, I could see the fear flicker in his eyes before he quickly put on a blank face.

I was ten feet away from HIM. Ten feet away from the man who made and is still making my life a living hell. Just staring into to his eyes, his emotionless eyes. I stood there just trying to think of why? why did he do this? thinking that the moon goddess must of been on some strong ass dope to deal me the life ive been living. Why? Quickly reigning in my wolf, taking back control momentarily.

"...why?" I asked. the sound that came out of my mouth was raspy and full of raw emotion.

I could see confusion and shock appear on his face.

"What are you talking about?" He asked, getting irritated.

"Why? Why did you make..why did you do the things you did to me?" I spun around "All of you?"

I saw confusion dawn on must of the pack members face. then all at once I saw resignation dawn on all of their faces. I could feel the tears building up in my black soulless eyes.

It was eerily silent for the next few moments.

The only thing going through my head right now was that my unlce was dead because of these people. It was like a mantra going on in my head. He's dead. He's dead. He's dead.

"GODDAMNIT HES DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!" I screamed at josh.

"Whos dead?" A little boy I remember to be John or Jake asked while hiding behind his fathers leg.

Staring Josh dead in the eye, I whispered the five words that have been haunting me for two days now.

"My uncle...He's fucking dead!"

The gasps could be heard.

I could feel the confusion and the fake remorse going through the pack, it was flowing off of everyone in waves.

"Dont act like any of you care."  I said as I looked everyone in the eyes. Everyone soon lowered their heads unable to keep eye contact.
