Alex holds the gun steady and strong, his finger on the trigger- he's ready to kill. Anger danced in his eyes the way insanity danced with Jeff, and I almost wish it was Jeff I was staring down instead. At least with Jeff I expected this kind of stuff.

I stare past the gun, looking Alex dead in the eye. He glares back confidently. I'm terrified, sharing in my shoes. I know he's going to kill me. It's clear he's aiming for me, and his friends are ready to attack too.

"Alex.." I say in a hushed tone, "What are you doing?"

As Alex chuckles, I begin to silently cry. The tears streamed down my face. Is this really my end. "What does it look like, Joey?" Alex growls, "It's the perfect trap- I'm killing two birds with one stone, really. Or two monsters with one gun in this case."

"What are you talking about?" I ask him, barely able to speak. All his friends are glaring me down. They want him to kill me already, it's obvious.

"I know what you did, you fucking bitch. I know you're using Jeff as a pawn to do your biding," Alex tells me, his words dripping with venom.

"No, no Alex, you have it all wrong," I say. I try my best to stay calm, as calm as I can, a hoping to get to him.

"Stop fucking lying!" Alex screams. Bad idea.. very bad idea.. If Jeff's anywhere near here, he definitely heard that.. "See, I know all about your little friend. FBI really wants him, been after him for years. I saw all the files after my parents got assigned to his case."

Remember Alice's story, panic sets in. "Alex, put down the gun. You don't understand what you're doing."

"Oh, I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm putting an end to that monster, and avenging all my friends you had him kill," Alex says with a chuckle, "It was pretty obvious from the start, though I didn't really believe it. Not till I saw that apparently Jeff had been acting oddly here, almost like there was someone he was protecting. And as soon as I saw that, well I just knew it was you."

"Alex you've got this all mixed up," I insist, "I didn't have anything to do with that monster, not like that. But please, you need to listen to me. You're in danger-"

"Danger? From who? Jeff? No, no, you see, Joey, he'll be far to busy crying over your dead body to even notice me!" Alex cheers, "So stop you're damn lying and pray, bitch! Because tonight you're meeting God!"

"Please, Alex please stop," I beg, "Please! I don't wanna die!"

Alex laughs at me as he cocks his gun, then asks, "Any last words?"

So this is it, huh? I finally escape Jeff, and I don't even get to live a full 24-hours afterwards. I guess it was unavoidable at the end of the day. I was never going to truly live after all that's happened. And I'd never get to open up to anyone, to ever get this off my chest, to ever find safety. I'd probably still have nightmares whenever I sleep, and the scars on my arm will haunt me with the reminder of Jeff's anger.

Normally this is when your life flashes before your eyes, right? Everything's moving slowly, Alex is getting ready to fire, I'll be dead in seconds, but all that's flashing before me is Jake's dead body, the mangled remains of my neighbors, and Jeff's haunting blue eyes. I lower my head, ready for the end.

A body collides with mine just as I hear the gun fire, the both of us hit the ground hard. The weight of the person, who is much larger than I am, crushes me but other than that I don't feel any pain. Alex missed- who saved me?

I struggle to roll onto my back while the person lifts themselves off of me. Once on my back, I look up at my savior. All it took was the black hair and stained hoodie for me to realize who it was. Through the hair I see Jeff's face. He stares back down at me with concern in his eyes. He looks over me, probably checking to see if I got hurt.
