"Why am I leaving?"

I woke up.

Not this dream again... I thought.

I got up of bed and walked over to the dresser. I looked at myself in the mirror.

Every time I have a nightmare, I would look at myself in the mirror and take in my surroundings. Who I am, what I was, how I lived. That way, I could focus on what was happening today instead of thinking of past memories. I looked over to my clock. 4:37 am. About time Hugo would be at school right now. I pulled out my phone and texted him.

Me: Hu you there?
Hu: you're lucky my teachers fast asleep right now, what's up? Isn't it like 4 am there?
Me: bad dream
Hu: ahh okay
Hu: don't worry, uncle Hugo is here to help

Hu: I got a girlfriend

I locked my phone and plopped back on my bed.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I slammed it off and rolled off of bed.

Who am I again? Oh yeah, I'm Emi Amethyst, freshman at Dark Forest High.

I got dressed and went to the living room. Surprisingly, Cleo wasn't awake yet. I knocked on his door.

"Wake up, your going to be late." I said.

"Five more minutes..." I heard a mumble.

"Five more minutes you sleep in is five more minutes your going to be late for school. Come on." I said.
