Part 2: Building a strong bond

“Fortuna, are you okay or what?” Antropos told me while finishing her orange shake.

I tucked my hair behind my ear and avoided her eyes. She stood up on her seat and go to the sit right next to me. I don’t know what emotion I will show. I tried to speak but no words came to my mouth. It is just like I can’t tell her that I am missing my mother.

“I know there is something wrong” Antropos said, holding firmly my freezing hands.

Tears ran down on my cheeks. “I-I…. I want to know where’s my mother…… B-b-but… It’s been 17 years since her disappearance….” I said tremendously at her, wiping away my tears.

Suddenly, the first bell rang. I gave Antropos a bright smile, pretending that I’m already okay.

“You’re really a great pretender” she laughed.

I laugh as well, realizing that she really knows me. “Next Subject?” I asked, avoiding the topic.

“Eh, Chemistry, my favorite” she said solemnly. “How about you?”  she added.

“Good luck with “that” favorite subject.  Umm.. Calculus” I replied, remembering Jinn. I felt my cheeks burning as I said the word “Calculus” at her.

“Kay. Good luck with Jinn, I mean, in Calculus” she said teasingly.

I grabbed my book on the dining table and grinned at her. She followed me on the exit and I bid my farewell at her. “Good luck to moles moles something” I laughed.

On the right corner of Mr. Smith’s, our Calculus teacher, room, there is Jinn chattering on his mortal friends. I ignored him and sat at the back. I looked at him for a second and caught his eye looking at me. I am just like “WHOOAA” inside me. I bit my lip and tried to hit any books I have on my table.

“Avoid him! Avoid him!”  I said to myself, covering my face with a book.

Then, I saw a figure behind the book. As I put down it down, I saw Jinn smiling widely at me.

“I see, you really love reading in upside down manner” he told me, laughing.

I don’t know what I will say. I just looked at him, not realizing that my jaw hanged open. Jinn looked away at me, seems like he got shy. I tried to start a conversation.

“Why did you say so?” I said, forcing my most beautiful smile.

Jinn pointed my book with his mouth.  I looked on the book I grabbed and realized that it is really upside down. I felt my cheeks again on its hottest temperature. I closed my book quickly to prevent my other classmates to know.  I sighed.

“Come on, Jinn, what’s with you today?”

Jinn shook his head. “I saw you crying awhile ago in the cafeteria”

          “So What?” I smirked.

“Look, I’m just having concern at you” Jinn said, looking at me firmly.

In my eyes, I saw Jinn transforms with his white coat suit and myself into a bridal gown. Next to him is his father and my brother, Apollo and my father, Zeus, who is next to me. There are also priest in front of the altar and in my sight, I saw my friends at the back, with their gowns.

“Can you be my lady forever?” Jinn whispered at me.

I held his hand and nodded at him happily. The crowds swoon as we looked at them. It’s just like, “Let us welcome the new couple!”

Then, I caught myself smiling alone with Jinn waiting for my answer. Oh my gosh! I just daydreamed in front of his face!

I smiled at him weakly and tried to answer. “Come again, heeh?”

“If I just have the powers to know what’s on other’s mind” he said, laughing.

After awhile, Mr. Smith arrived on the room.

“I’ll talk to you in dismissal” he told me. I nodded at him and get my pen in my bag for my preparation on today’s Calculus-will-be-long period.

Dismissal time, there is Antropos and Jinn with me and we walked all together back to the hotel.

“If you want to find your mother, I’m here to help” Jinn said, breaking the silence.

“Of course, I am here too!” Antropos added.

I felt happy on what they said but my fear to Hera became the hindrance on my feelings.

“I don’t know. My step mom is so powerful, I c-can’t…”  I said hesitatingly at them.

“We are demi gods. We are immortals and especially, we have powers. It can help us on where Hera hid your mother”

          “B-but…”

“Do you love your mother or what?” Antropos said, smirking at me.

I clenched my fist as I strongly said, “Of course!”
