"I'm really sorry about that. I didn't expect Scorpion to lash out like that." Sub-Zero awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.

Evangelina scoffed. "Ok, look. One, it's Scorpion. He has serious anger issues. Two, I was expecting him to do something like that. And three, I accept your pathetically composed apology."

Sub-Zero narrowed his eyes in a joking manner. "Pathetic?"

Evie smirked. "Yes. Pathetic. I mean, no one scratches the back of their neck anymore unless they have a really bothering itch."

Sub-Zero was about to reply when Cassie came into view with Kung Jin. He looked uncomfortable, while Cassie seemed relaxed. They stopped in front of Evie.

"Hi, Dia. Hi Grandmaster." Cassie was surprised to see the Lin Kuei here.

"Hello, Cassie. It's ok. He's just here to have a pleasant conversation with me. It's not another killing attempt."

"Ah." Cassie was at ease once more. Her suspicions had been quenched by Evie's reassurance.

Evie turned to Cassie's friend. "Hello to you, Kung Jin."

He started, surprised. "How did you..."

"Know your name? Telepath.", Evie explained.

"Damn it. Another mind reader.", he muttered.

Evie just laughed at this. "I'll have you know that I'm a better telepath than your friends."

"Do me a favor and stay out of my head," Jin said.

"It's fine. There's nothing wrong with being different. I'm not even human." Evie said.

"Man, I'm starving. And it's late. We've got to- " Cassie started to speak, but was soon interrupted.

"You can stay and eat with me.", Evie invited.

"Cool. Let's go!", Jin said before Cassie could refuse the request. Evie conjured a portal and they fell through it.

================================

"Ugh. I still haven't gotten used to going through your portals.", Sub-Zero said. He still remembered the portal he went through when they tried to kill her for the second time.

Cassie didn't try to speak. She was too focused on trying to hold it in. Kung Jin, on the other hand, fled to a nearby bush.

Unfazed, Evie went to her cherry tree and towards the table on the grass. She waved her hand, and food appeared on the table. There was a variety of pizza and soda, along with a big chocolate cake for dessert.

"Pizza!" The teens shouted in excitement. Sub-Zero didn't betray any sign of emotion.

They all dug in, with Lumina and Midnight, who were introduced to the others by Evangelina.

Her wings were loose, as she was relaxing and getting along with her new friends. These wings were crytallic and made of the same material of her sword, Starmetal. Sub-Zero, Cassie, and Jin found out that Evie had a dry sort of humor and could be funny at times. After it all, however, the sun was starting to set.

"You should go back. Use the excuse that you were at the training pits. Nobody went there today," Evie said.

"How do you know that?", Jin asked.

"As I've told you, I'm a goddess. As the goddess of the Light and Dark, I've got control of everything. I can see where people are, where they have been, and where they will be."

"So you can see into the future?", Cassie asked.

Evie didn't reply, but simply winked and conjured another portal that whisked away the teens. Sub-Zero still stood there.

"So, good luck tomorrow.", he said after awhile.

"Like I said before, I won't be needing it," Evie repeated. "Do you want to walk back?"

"Yes. Please." Sub-Zero quickly answered this. He definitely didn't want to go through another portal.

She nodded and waved goodbye. Just as he was about to leave, he turned back on a second thought.

"Dia!"

She turned, looking at him. He hesitated, trying to find the right words to say.

"My real name is Kuai Liang."

She smiled a true, genuine smile.

"I already knew that."

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

"Li Mei versus DD!"

Another day marked another match. Both fighters made their way to the arena.

"I'll have you know, I've admired your skill so far in the tournament.", Li Mei said.

"Why thank you. I'll try to make this as less painful as I can," Evie said.

"FIGHT!!!"

Both people held back, wary. It was Evie that made the first move. She drew forth Midnight and tagged her. Now, the Dark personality was fighting for Evie. This was new.

Narrowing her eyes and unleashing her claws, Midnight melted into shadow and appeared silently behind Li Mei where she broke through her defenses. Now, Evie was tagged into the fight. She continued to fight with flurries of punches and blows that quickly stunned the female opponent. In a short time, Li Mei was rendered unconscious.

"FINISH HER!!!"

Evie hesitated. Choosing to show mercy, she drew her Glocks and fired three times, hitting her opponent's head all three times.

She was about to leave when Raiden stopped her in her tracks with a lighting bolt aimed at her feet.

"The warrior clearly shows skill. But does she have stamina?", he mocked.

"The thunder god is clearly deluded. But does he also have a lack of a  brain to accompany this?", Evie shot back.

He glared. "You will fight again. Against Sareena!"

The female demon somersaulted into the arena. The DD was glaring at the god that had spoke rashly. She turned her attention to the new challenge.

"FIGHT!!!"

Evie was pissed. She had been chastised by a god of extremely lower rank than her, but she couldn't do anything because of the stupid tournament. Her temper burst.

Unleashing her Dark and Light forms, she was now emitting a bright glow that shifted into a cloud of darkness. Eyes crystalline in color, she started to teleport and ruthlessly attacked. With her clawed hands, she was able to land many well placed wounds and  landed blows that broke the opponent's bones in specific places.

"FINISH HER!!!"

Evie used her fire powers to ignite Sareena on fire while she also used her whip to pull out her heart. Throwing it into the air, Luna leaped from the floor transforming from a shadow into a being. She seized the heart, swallowed it, and dove into the ground as a shadow again.

"FATALITY!!!"

Glaring once more at Raiden, Evie turned to leave, but Raiden shot a stream of electricity that would have severely damaged her.

However, she anticipated this by reading his actions and mind. She caught the beam of electricity, and held it in one hand. She mockingly played with it, surprising everyone (except Kuai and Hanzo who she told she was an elemental) until she launched it back at the person who had sent it to her in the first place. It just missed, after Raiden moved just in time to have the bolt of lighting go past his right ear. Evie smirked.

"Fuck with me again. I dare you."

She quickly exited the arena, not wanting to provoke anymore trouble.
