This wasn't requested by anyone, but I wanted to anyways.

Pairing: Credence Barebone x reader

Plot: How Y/N and Credence met, and realized that they were a lot similar than they had expected.

Warnings: Mentions of abuse.

Notes: Thank god that I have the screenplay, it helped quite a lot with Mary Lou's quotes. God I hated her.

I was walking through the busy streets of New York minding my own business. I was trying to get to my workplace before I would be late. I worked at MACUSA, in the wand permit department. It wasn't a very exciting job, but it did have its perks. Not many, but it did.

As I'm walking past the bank, I hear a woman calling out to a crowd of people at the bottom of the stairs.

"But where there is light, there is shadow, friend!" The woman explains to the crowd. I roll my eyes at this statement. It was Mary Lou Barebone again, trying to convince people to join the Second Salemers, a society of people who are trying to prove that magic exists and wants to eliminate it.

I lower my head a bit and walk a little faster, trying to cut through the crowd. As I'm making my way through, I accidentally bump into someone and they drop what they were holding. I turn around and drop to the ground to help them out.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking at where I was going and I-" I try to apologize as I help them pick up their papers. I look at the papers and realize they were the Second Salemer pamphlets. I look up at the person that I bumped into and I'm greeted by dark brown eyes that belong to Mary Lou's son. I look down, blushing a bit as I pick up the rest of the pamphlets and hand them back to him.

"I-It's okay." He mutters, looking down. "Thank you."

"It was my pleasure..." I ask, not knowing his name.

"C-Credence." Was his reply.

"Well then Credence, my name is Y/N. It was a pleasure to meet you, but I must get going. I don't want to be late for work." I half smile.

"Would it be alright if I took a pamphlet? It seems pretty interesting." I ask, lying. I wasn't interested, but I hope that our paths cross in the future.

"O-Of course." He says, his voice barely a whisper. He hands me a pamphlet and I smile.

"Thank you." I say. "Hey, when is the next meeting? I'd like to be able to stay a little longer next time."

"Tomorrow at 12." He answers.

"I can go during my lunch break. Where is it going to be held at?" I ask, my heart pounding a bit.

"3-3rd street." He replies, looking down.

"That's right next to where I work! That works out great." I smile, blushing.

He looks at me with a ghost of a smile on his lips. "S-See you there."

"You bet you will." I laugh. "Bye for now Credence." I say as I walk off. I look at the pamphlet, and hold it to my chest, my heart still pounding. I chuckle and carefully put the pamphlet in my coat pocket.

I sit down at my desk and sigh, a smile still evident on my face.

"What happened to you? You're as giddy as a schoolgirl." My friend and coworker Tina asks me, cup of coffee in hand.

"Oh, nothing. Just had a nice chat with someone." I reply.

Tina looks at me and raises an eyebrow. "And who would that be? Is there someone that Y/N likes?"

"Maybe. I don't know." I answer, blushing and looking down.

"Aww, Y/N is in love! Now tell me who is it?" Tina asks, on the edge of her seat.

"I know it will never work with the magical laws we have, but his name was Credence. Very quiet and shy, but very kind and I hope to see him again soon." I say, looking up and smiling at Tina, who just looks at me with a shocked look on her face.

"The Second Salem boy? His mother is the reason I'm no longer an Auror,
Y/N." She looks at me and sighs.

I sigh deeply and frown. "I know, but you see, he's not like his mother or sisters. He seems to despise his mother's teachings. I know what his Ma does to him, you've told me before." I look down and sigh again.
"I just wanna help him. Is that too much to ask?"

"No, not at all." Tina replies, setting her coffee mug down on her desk. "I think that's great that you want to help. But I just think that you should keep this on the down low for now, we don't need to stir up more trouble with the Second Salemers. But if you want to talk to him or try to help, be my guest. I'm not your boss." Tina says with a chuckle.

I look at her and grin. "Thanks Teenie."

She groans at the nickname and I just laugh.

Okay, this is ending up longer than I thought. I might just turn this into a multiple-part series if anybody wants it to. Any thoughts?
