It had been a year that passed from the day of the carnival. John and Alex got together soon after that day and Alex had loved life so much more now that he wasn't with Thomas.

John's father was rich, so John wasted no time spending the income he had. Whenever the boys walked down the street and passed by a cute shirt in the window of a store and Alex wanted it, John wouldn't think twice to buy it for Alex. Alex had become extremely spoiled, and John couldn't care in the slightest.

"Alex? I'm home!" John called as he walked inside his home. He couldn't help but smile as he heard the sound of Alex's feet running down the stairs to greet John.

He giggled wildly, jumping into John's arms and wrapping his legs around John's waist.

"Hi Johnny!" Alex beamed at John, peppering his face with kisses, "How was work today?" Alex asked as he buried his face in John's shoulder.

John shrugged, "It was fine. But I'm doing much better now that I'm home with you."

Alex giggled once more, kissing John's lips quickly before standing back on the floor, "Let's see... What does my babygirl want to do today?" John asked, reaching out a hand and stroking Alex's cheek.

Alex leaned into the touch, "Wanna spend the rest of the day with you." He hummed. John chuckled, "Well, the carnival's back in town..." John trailed off and Alex's eyes lit up brighter than the sun, "Can we go, John? Can we go?" Alex asked, hopping up and down.

John chuckled and nodded, "Yes, my dear, of course. Let me change out of my workclothes. I'll be right down." With that, John kissed Alex and went upstairs, changing into a simple pair of jeans and a white tee.

He came back, giggling as he noticed Alex buzzing with excitement, "Let's go!" He chirped. He gripped John's hand and pulled him out of the door and to the car.

"Let's go on the ferris wheel!" Alex exclaimed happily, pulling John to the ride, "Are you sure, Babydoll? It gets pretty high up, don't want you to get scared." Alex shook his head, "I won't be scared. I've got you to protect me." He said, kissing John's cheek.

John led Alex to the car, making sure Alex was closer to the inside. John held Alex close by the waist as he noticed the smaller boy get tense. John ran his fingers through Alex's hair, whispering in his ear, "I've got you, babygirl. You're safe." He said.

Alex looked up at John, scooting closer to him and burying his face in John's chest, "I love you." He said quietly.

"I love you too." John said, closing his eyes as he waited for them to get back down to the bottom.

He led Alex off and around the carnival, the night was spent with Alex's giggling and the love of the two.

"I had fun tonight, John." Alex smiled wide. John had Alex in his arms, carrying him inside bridal style, "So did I." John smiled back, laying Alex in their bed. He crawled in next to the other, cuddling close.

"Love you, Johnny."

"Love you, too, 'Lex."
