Daryl's POV
I wake up to a voice calling to me softly. "Daryl?" I look over and see Skylar. "Huh?" "Can I have something to drink?" "Sure." Slowly, I walk downstairs with Skylar trailing behind me. "Since it's breakfast... We have Orange juice, milk, and apple juice. The others may have something else if you want," I offer. "I'm good with orange juice," she says. I pour the juice into a cup, sloshing a bit of it onto the counter when I hand her the cup. "Dangit..." Quickly, I mop it up with a paper towel and throw the paper towel in the trash. "So, Rick and I were talking last night, and," I pause, take a deep breath, and continue, "I was wondering if you wanted me to be your father." Her eyes widen, and her answer surprises me. "YES!!!" she shouts. Happily, I smile and scoop her into a hug. "Adorable!" a voice behind me calls, and my head snaps around to see Carol and Morgan standing in the doorway, though I never heard the door open. Just a split second later, Rick walks in with a note in his hand. "From Negan," he says. Carl runs in with his face stuffed with food. "Finnamon wolls're dewicious! Got 'em fwom Maggie," he says, spit flying everywhere when he talks. Rick facepalms, and Morgan and Carol laugh. "That's your son, Rick!" I say, and slap him on the back. "Whatever," he mutters. Carl gulps the food down and turns to Rick. "Michonne's up and running again," he says. "Lord help us all," Carol smiles, and Rick runs out and over to Michonne's house. "DAD WAIT UP!" Carl shouts, and runs out after him. "Do you like video games, Skylar?" Morgan asks. Skylar nods, and Carol smiles at me. "You got any game consoles packed away?" "Um... An Xbox One and a PlayStation four," I say. "C'mon, then! Let's play some Minecraft!" Skylar says happily. I walk over and turn on the Xbox One and we play Minecraft the rest of the day.
Maggie's POV
I stand there at Sasha's grave. A tear rolls down my face. "Why did you have to go so soon? I lost Glenn... Abraham... Now you," I say, "But I hope you're happier now." "She is." I turn around and see Jesus walking towards me. "Hey Jesus," I reply. "Lemme guess, Carl raided your cinnamon rolls again?" he asks playfully. "Yup!" I laugh, "Think I have one more left, though, if ya wanna have it." "I'm good," he says. "Heard Daryl's got a kid," I say, and he smiles. "Her name's Skylar. She's awesome. I went over earlier and saw they were playing Minecraft. I took turns with Daryl," he explains. I roll my eyes. "Just like little kids," I mutter. "Nuh-uh!" he defends playfully. "Yeah, okay." "Aren't we supposed to be preparing for war against the Saviors?" I ask, wiping the dirt from the ground off on my jeans. "Rick says he got a note from Negan saying they won't come for a month to give us time," Jesus says. "Reckon Eugene talked them into giving us time?" I ask. "Really? You ACTUALLY assume that? You know Eugene isn't loyal to us anymore. Didn't you hear him say 'I am Negan'?" he replied angrily. "Chill," I say. "Right, sorry. It just pisses me off so freaking much," he says. "Want cookies?" I ask. He smiles slyly, like a kid readying to raid a candy store. "You know me so well."
