Chapter Four: Bleeding Out.
Lucas:
24th of September 2013
"A concussion?!" I exclaimed
"Yes, I'm sorry, but she'll have to stay here for a few days, she lost a lot of blood when she fell and something more severe would've happened if it wasn't for that jacket." the doctor said.
"Jacket? what jacket?" Caroline asked, we've been waiting here for 2 hours and this is the first doctor we see that knows anything about Mia's case, so a lot of questions are being raised.
"The jacket that was wrapped around her head when she came here, that saved her from a lot of severe aftermaths that were going to be hard to deal with" the doctor replied
"My jacket" I whispered.
It seems like everybody heard me since all of them looked at me, there were grateful looks, confused looks but there was certainly one look that stood out to me. Sophie's
Her look was different from the rest of the guys, she looked grateful, sympathetic and most importantly, understanding, I gave her a small smile while the rest of the people asked question about when will she come back and visiting hours and such.
I haven't been worried so much about anything in my whole life, when we stayed here for 2 hours with not even a nurse bothering to tell us what's going on, I really thought something serious happened to Mia, but now that the doctor said she'll be out in a few days, everything's gonna be okay.
After the doctor left, we decided to take turns in sitting with Mia to give a chance for everyone to manage school and take care of her, after all she does have no one but us to take care of her. I would stay the night with her and after school tomorrow, Caroline, Sophie and Rose would come here till about 8:00 PM and then Andrew and Liam would stay the night tomorrow.
We all went home, including me, since I'm not going home till tomorrow after school, I went to get my clothes for tomorrow and my homework assignments and I went back to the hospital and to Mia's room. I tried as much as I could to keep a low profile, Wouldn't want another confrontation session with Liam. This time I'm sure if he, or anyone for that matter, brings Mia and my feelings for her up, I'm going to pour my heart and soul out on how I'm confused and I don't know what I'm feeling anymore and I don't even know what I'm thinking. How did I become such a scaredy cat? Just this morning, I was able to hide everything away with all the smirks and the sexual jokes, but after I saw Mia on the floor like that, and I felt for a second that I might lose her, Everything was mind boggling to me and I couldn't think straight.
I ordered the couch and I made myself comfortable as I sat down and watched Mia sleep, she looked so innocent, angelic, if you haven't known her you wouldn't have known that she's been going through so much crap in the past 3 weeks and without that sad look on her face when she was awake, God was she beautiful.
Wait, what? No! You're not doing this, Lucas. You don't know how you feel about her, if all those feelings are wrong you are gonna ruin your relationship with your childhood best friend. But what if we gave it a shot? What if it was real? Are you willing to risk losing the one person that understood you the most? If those feelings are wrong, both your lives will be shattered . I can't risk losing Mia to a relationship. What the hell are you thinking, Lucas?! You're the bad boy, the heart breaker, since when are you spending your extra time thinking about a girl? Mia wasn't any girl though, she was my best friend, my princess, my Mia Bear.
