A flash of light and everything was cold, but I got use to it quickly. I wasn't wearing anything, I had no past, but I knew who I was and I knew the basic things like how to breathe, speak, eat, drink, fight, and cast magic. I knew that I was a demon-born, but I was not like any other, I looked different from all the others, they had wings and horns, I had a sharp tail and big pointed ears.
As I checked my surroundings, I realized that I was in a forest and behind me was a statue of another demon-born, I realized it was my father, he had no spouse so he used his life to make me. I walked off to find clothes, anything would do right now, I was sick of this cold, my green skin was about to turn to ice. The forest looked magical. . . but something deep down is saying it isn't perfect, I just kept walking as this went through my mind.
After a while I came across a small village, with wooden houses, mills, armories, traders, and horse barraks, they had almost no protection, it seems slightly imperfect if you ask me. I noticed some clothes laying out to dry most likely, I took them, they looked like that they would fit a 5 ft demon-born. They also had a small hat of some sort, it was hard but smooth on the inside, i tried it on and it fit perfectly, so did the small brown jacket they had, but the pants were tight on my tail so I used the sharp part of my tail to make a hole for my tail. That seems to work, the clothes fit perfectly, now I needed some shoes. I notice some boots in the blacksmith's forge room, luckly it was night and everyone was asleep or inside, but there was someone outside of the inn, he was acting strange, but maybe he wouldn't see me, of course he wouldn't, I'm perfect at stealth! I made my way to the forge and I grabbed the boots and I tried them on "ah. . . perfect fit" I said to myself.
Now that I was fully dressed I needed to introduce my existence to some one, and that man was still standing outside the inn. . . oddly in fact, his stance seemed broken, but none the less I'm introducing myself. When I got to the odd man I spoke "hello sir! You might not know me for I was just created" I said with my head held high "but I am the perfect Regin" yes! Calling myself "the perfect" Will surely make him trust me and I said it with a smirk on my face standing greatly! But to my suspense, he didn't respond but he started groaning, rather rude to be specific, as he walked deadly to to me "sir were you even listening!?" I yelled trying to get him to stop what ever he was doing. He didn't listen, he kept groaning "tch. . . sir your being rather rude" I informed him, but yet again he didn't listen, he got closer to me and. . . he struck at me, I dodge his loosely attack. "Sir I must say, that attack was very imperfect, do you wish to train before going up against me?" I said then I scratched the top of my hard hat "then again I was just born a few hours ago so I must train myself, so what do you say?" I informed him, but he ran at me again. "Hmph seems like you do want to attack." I said as I got my fighting stance ready "but be warned I won't go easy" the man charged at me with his arms down weakly as he scretched loudly, I waited for him to get close and. . . CRACK!! Oddly enough the punch hit his head and it nearly came off, the man was nearly headless and still alive. This left me utterly confused and when light from the torches hanging on the pillars in the small village hit the man's body, I seemed like the man is decomposing and rotten. The man was undead. . . . so much for introducing myself to someone alive, well since he won't stay dead I'll make him stay dead, I charged at him and I cut the remaining part of his head off with my tail. 'i suppose that's why no one's outside this moonlit night' I thought to myself 'sooo. . . . the inn is most likely closed. . . ' "sigh. . . . . I guess I'll sleep outside. . ." I said to myself. I looked for a place to sleep and I spotted a tree "that'll do. . ." I muttered as I began to climb it, when I got to a sturdy branch I rested til morning.I was awoken when someone tossed a pebble at my hat, "mistor? Who are you?" the person asked, well I guess I could introduce my existence to this one, he doesn't look decomposing, "I'm the perfect Regin" I answered "the pewfect wegin? I nevew met you befowe, I'm Benjamin but evewy one else calls me Ben, are you a lizawd?" he asked "no I'm not a lizard, I'm a demon-born" I answered "a-a-a d-demon!?" he said seeming frightened "are you ok?" I asked "I didn't say anything wrong" I informed but he got more terrified and ran off. Does he not like demon-borns? I mean no harm to him, were we not friends a few minutes ago? I got down from my tree and a dagger was threw at me and I managed to dodge it and it hit the tree. The one who through it was a man with a few frieghtened villagers behind him. "Leave this place demon!" the man yelled viciously. "Fine fine! You don't have have to be rude by throwing a dagger at me, perfect throw by the way, nearly got me" I chuckled and I left. They were rude humans, I was trying to befriend them, guess some humans are just rude.
400 years later. . .
I was walking through a plain and few destroyed forts could be seen in the area, most likely bandits made camps there, imperfect things, their becoming dumber and dumber as the years go by. Intresting people have been showing up in the past years, one thing I'm glad of, is that the racism went down abit, but people still act extremely rude if your different from them, imperfections I say. At least I look the same as I did from birth odd enough i must add. While I was thinking to myself a arrow flew and grased my skin, the wound healed easily, I checked who was my attacker and it seems I got to "close" to a bandit camp. Welp there's no reason to run away I can show them perfection, I dashed to the camp, dodging arrows and spells as they flew at me, my timing and agility was perfect as I beheaded the one in front of the fort. When I entered the fort, a really fast half-orc tried to swing an axe to my face, I dodged it and I took his arm with me. The orc went enraged when I took his arm off, well I ate a piece of his arm and I gained a bit of his strength, I did this because my digestive system allows me to obtain powers or abilities, for a short time, from the foe I ate. The orc ran at me and tried to hit me with his other arm, I caught his fist and I heard his hand snap as I squeezed it. He tried to headbutt me but the end of my tail kinda met the inside of his brain. I pulled my tail out and I looked around the fort, were they the only ones? I guess so and I left the fort and I kept walking.
599 years later
I arrived to this place called SteamPort, it seems to have alot of steampunk machinery, but I need to get a boat and sail to this place a man wants me to check out. I went to the docks and I rented myself a boat and I sailed off. A few hours went by as I was sailing through the ocean, the sky seemed stormy, I hope it gets clear soon. It didn't, the storm got worse and the tides got bad and the boat was too small to survive. I was plunged to sea and I went unconcious
The next chapter with Regin will be the start of the journey
