Chapter nine

Remembering that the guys had mentioned earlier they had soccer practice after school Lucy wondered why Natsu was with her. Now walking towards her door with the pink haired boy beside her, she then spoke up.

Lucy: "Don't you have practice today?"

Natsu: "Mhm."

Lucy: "Then what are you doing here??"

Won't he get in trouble with the coach? Gildarts seems pretty intimidating... It seems like he has a death wish. Lucy thought to herself as she waited for an answer from him.

Natsu: "Because I don't need practice. I'm the best player they have."

Lucy: "Wow, I wonder if there's even a scale that can measure how big your ego is."

She joked while playfully rolling her eyes. The pink haired boy then smirked at her comment before saying...

Natsu: "There's many things about me that can't be measured."

Lucy: "...Kay. So do you have any plans today?"

The blonde asked curiously as she tried to ignore that comment of his. This action only caused Natsu's smirk to grow more then it already was.

Natsu: "Why? Are you worried I might go with some other girl?"

Lucy: "No... I could care less about you and your toys."

Natsu: "Don't worry. There's only one girl I want and that's you."

He says in a confident tone before throwing a slick wink at the blonde.

Lucy: "Haven't you heard the quote that said don't desire what you can't have?"

Natsu: "But I know I can have you."

He says smoothly with a grin while placing his hand on the wall next to him. Now leaning on the wall he continued his 'play boy' act but before he could continue... His stomach began to growl causing the blonde to erupt into laughter.

Lucy: "Wow that was sooo smooth!"

Natsu: "..."

Lucy: "Are you hungry?"

Lucy asked as she wiped a tear away and tried her best to stop laughing. Natsu then began to rub the back of his neck while answering in a low tone.

Natsu: "A little."

Lucy: "Come on, I'll make you something to eat."

I can't believe she's actually inviting me in... Maybe this is my chance. He thought to himself as he watched the girl open her front door. Now entering behind her he stood in an open concept contemporary style living room.

Natsu: "Nice place."

Lucy: "Thanks. I'll go make you a sandwich."

Natsu: "You live here alone?"

He questioned while observing the photos on the walls. Most of them were pictures of her with her friends. None with her parent. The blonde then answered as she stepped into her kitchen to make Natsu a sandwich.

Lucy: "I live here with my dad although he's never really here."

Natsu: "Why so?"

Lucy: "Always busy at work so he doesn't have time to waste here."

Natsu: "You must get lonely a lot."
