Denial

Chapter 1

Denial

She woke up panting, covered in an unknown hot crimson liquid. Her parents slept beside her.

"Father, wake up!"

No matter how much she cried, her voice wouldn't reach them.

"Why won't you wake up? Mommy!Mommy!"

"Katherin." It was a familiar taunting voice, but her head couldn't process who it was. An ivy eye peeped through the door.

Her instinct told her to run, run as far as her tiny body would allow. Crashing through the window, shattered glass slicing through her delicate skin, into the wood she went.

"Edward!" She screamed her brothers name.

A cruel voice chilled her to the bone:

"I will hunt you down. I will go after you to hell and back. Not even death can save you now. I Will Find You Katherin".

Small

So small

So fragile

Helpless

She ran as far as she could.

Pant....pant....pant

No more, no more. She couldn't take it any longer. Deep into the woods, she ran. Dark and misty, she couldn't even see where she was going. All she knew was that as she ran, there was no turning back. Cold air clung to her.

Left

Right

The trees were closing in on her, as if they would grab her and cage her in.

Her desperate scream echoed through the woods. Tears ran silently down her face.

She tripped over the root of an oak tree, it send her tumbling

Down.

Her world was spinning. Rock and dirt rubbed and scratched against her delicate skin. Cold water filled her lungs, drowning her. Her fragile body thirsted for air. Falling

into

darkness

all she saw was a dead end.

Everything was dark.

Everything was cold.

She couldn't move.

She couldn't breath.

She struggle to take control, her body rebelled against her. Her tensed body curled itself in attempt to move.

"Katherin" A male voice spoke.

' Who are you' she thought, but it echoed so loud in her head it hurts her ear as if spoken out loud, yet her eyes, mouth and senses remain shut.

"He did this." The voice continue. It was merciless but gentle, smooth like ice but warm like fire.

"Who?" She felt her body frown. It felt like she was locked in her own body, a cage of darkness. She could sense her surrounding but she had no control.

'It' chuckled. " You know who."

" You mean 'him'."

" That bastard uncle of yours murdered your parents because he was next in line to the Terassius family."

She remained silence. The darkness seems to get darker, and her surrounded seems to get colder. She felt as if she was floating, not in air, but in water. Hey eyeballs moved but her eyelids was sealed shut.

"What are you going to do, Adorthine" He taunted with her middle name. A light reached out to her in her vision, but she knew for sure her eyes were still shut. " I can give you anything."

"What are you?" Her consciousness questioned.

"Tell me Katherin." The voice whisper in her left ear, " Tell me what you want."

" I want. . . ."

Vivid image flood in her head of her parent lifeless body. Air bubbles escape her lips as water choked her.

" Tell me" It said impatiently, "What you want."

Even Though the water was drowning her, she uttered out three words, "I want you."

She tensed body relaxed. Her emerald eyes snapped open to see herself floating in the depths of water.

She was drowning.

She couldn't breath.

She struggle to get to air.

Pressure squeezed her throat as her body begged for a release from this misery. Reaching at the dark figure swimming to her, their hands entwine. Sharp searing pain erupted through her body and came in focus below her clavicle. Her screams were muffled by water flooding into her.

Struggling,

Violently,

Twisting,

Turning,

She came to an abrupt stop as her body went numb and her vision blurred. She reached out again for the demon himself.
