A Demi Gods Life

Chapter 1

"Rae, come down stairs dinner is on the table!" I heard Mrs.Winter say from down stairs.
Mrs.Winter is the owner of the Winters Orphanage for Kids.
I grabbed my note book and ran down stairs to get food before it was all gone, I saw Mrs.Winter serving out mashed potatoes and stew. She had her dark brown hair in a braid that reached half way down her back, she was one of the few nice people I've meet. Before I could grab a plate and some food I was pushed by Tony, a 14 year old kid with black hair and brown eyes. "Out of the way mute." He said. I absolutely hated when he called me that, just because I don't talk doesn't mean you have to be rude.
"Tony! Be nice or you will go to bed without dinner." Mrs.Winter said before coming to help me up.

"Are you alright?" She asked in a soft tone, I admire her sympathy, I couldn't understand how someone could be so nice. I took out my note book and wrote, 'I'm fine thank you' and showed it to her.
"Now go get some food." She said in her warming kind voice.

Before I went to bed that night I Herd a knock on the door.

I got out of my room and peeked down stairs. Mrs.Winter was talking to a woman, she looked about 30 years old. She wore a long sleeved white shirt, a red leather jacket and blue jeans with black knee high boots. Her short brown hair was up in a ponytail.

I could only here bits and pieces of there conversation but I could make out what they were talking about.

"We have 12"

"15 years"

"She's very good"

"Can't talk?"

After I herd the last part I knew they were talking about me.

I went back to my closet size bedroom and got in bed, I couldn't get to sleep so I just thought.

'Maybe this home would be different, and I wouldn't feel like I was invisible.'

'If it doesn't work out I'll leave, but I should give it a chance.'

And with that last thought I went to sleep.

Sorry for the shot chapter I'll try to make the next one longer, this is also my first story so don't judge.
Also it's not going to be a love story with one of the characters from the Percy Jackson series, but it will have love. And thank for taking the time to read my first chapter, hope you stick around to see what happens next
